Staying in an 1890's Victorian B&B may not be everyone's cup of tea, but if you like the history (it's in the National Register of Historic Places) and don't mind the little things that come along with a 120+ year old building (like drafty windows), I don't think you will be disappointed here. My fiancee and I arrived on a... More

Everything about Redstone is great!!! The building is beautiful and historic. We were treated like royalty. The breakfast was excellent. And a big bonus was that my wife's ancestors lived in the part of Redstone facing Bluff Street.

This gorgeous inn provided a wonderful trip back in time. Robert the owner was very gracious, the room was extremely cozy, and the free breakfasts were delicious. The location was perfect for exploring nearby sites on foot and by car. We certainly will stay there again.

My boyfriend and I set out from Madison on a day trip and ended up in Dubuque unexpectedly and decided to stay the night. Selecting a B&B at random, we luckily ended up at the Redstone. The cost was very reasonable for a spacious/super clean/comfortable "deluxe" room (i.e. the basic offering) — featuring a seriously comfortable bed to boot. In... More

The hotel was easy to find with ample free parking opposite. The building represents a more prosperous time for the town, with ornamentation on the red brick exterior. The inside has ornate ceilings, covings and much of interest. Robert, the owner gave us an extremely warm welcome and showed us to our room. The room was comfortable, clean, everything worked... We came to Redstone by "accident" and we are SO thankful we did! A local hotel did not have our reservation and was full. Being unfamiliar accommodations in area, we randomly choose Redstone and we are so thankful for the hotel's mistake! We have stayed at many B&B's and found this to be a beautiful Inn with very welcoming and... More

My wife and I looked forward to spending a day or two in Dubuque after a week in Galena (where we found the accomadations and food service to be consistently exceptional). We booked two nights at the Redstone in the Elizabeth Sullivan Bridal Suite. When we arrived, the room was hot, the refrigerator unplugged, and the air conditioning off (this... More

The Redstone Inn was the perfect place for a group of friends from around the country to gather for a weekend. We rented the entire Inn. I think we might of overwhelmed the proprietor, we are a group of widows and widowers and I think he thought we would be much older and much quieter. My only negative was the... More

We were in Dubuque for a 2 day getaway and enjoy B & B lodgings. The Redstone Inn is downtown within walking distance of all the major attractions in Dubuque, a thriving interesting river community. Our host was charming and helpful, the breakfast delicious and our room and bed comfortable. If you like B & B stays in general, you... More

The Redstone Inn is centrally located in Dubuque. It's an easy walk to the Fenelon Place Elevator (a must-do in Dubuque!), and to restaurants on Main Street. A longer walk or short drive takes you to the Mississippi River Museum complex and Diamond Jo casino. The Redstone has a wide variety of room types, furnished with antique furniture, but avoids...
