Great location and much charm but the mattresses and linens were so bad I wouldn't send them to Goodwill. We had the "governors suite" which had a from Sen. Elizabeth Dole in 1986, when is when I guess they last updated the bedding.... Breakfast was nice. But the most wonderful thing about the place was a dog named Maddie who... more

Again this fall we arranged for our conference speakers to stay at the Redstone Inn & Suites and again we received noting but praise for our choice of hotel for them. After checking in and bringing our speakers to dinner we generally enjoy an after dinner time in the delightful sitting room. It is such a relaxing way to end... more

We checked in without looking at the rooms, which was a mistake. Wallpaper was loose. Dirty washcloth was in our tub. The whole place needed a good scrubbing. Owners were not readily available. We called them when we arrived and waited 1/2 hour to get in. We checked in, paid and owners left again. After looking around, we decided this... more

I have stayed at The Redstone inn on numerus occasions. I travel for business approximately 3 weeks a month. The Redstone is my favorite place to stay. The owners make you feel like one of the family. The warm chocolate chip cookies are just what you need after working all day. The rooms remind me of my favorite aunts home... more

Our three days in Dubuque were all the better by the our stay at the Redstone Inn. We selected the Inn last year as we scouted intimate accommodation to host a small group (15) of teachers from Minneapolis. During our stay last year, we were delighted by the historic significance of the Inn and the warm the owners, Jerry and... more

When my husband and I travel, we always bring books to read for the evening since we're not night-lifers. Not only did the room not have comfortable seating, but the lighting was terrible. One side of the bed had no light at all and the other had a decorative lamp that was cute but gave off hardly any light. Therefore... more

We were celebrating our Anniversary, and decided it would be great to stay at the Redstone since we'd previously stayed there for our honeymoon, and in the following 2 years. My husband reserved a room with a whirlpool. The room was dirty! I am not a clean freak. But when I pay >$150. I expect clean and cared for. Example:... more

I was there with a co-worker and stayed for a couple of days. Jerry & Kelly are so gracious and friendly. Our stay with them was a real pleasure. So much nicer than a generic, cookie cutter chain. The property was so clean. The breakfast was great and the Inn has so much character. I would stay there in a... more

The Inn has a fine location in the center and is very finely looking from the outside. For the price (75$ for a standard) my room which actually was a room to 90$ per night, the standard is good - but don't expect anything out of the ordinary. The room was very cold and I even stayed there in October... more

What a delightful little place this is! Jerry was a friendly, mellow guy and recommended several places for me to eat as I arrived hungry after a long day of driving. I found my room clean and well cared for. I didn't use the a/c, so I can't speak to that, but I got the impression that these folks really... more
