This is a nicely updated clean hotel. You can tell it used to be a much older hotel but the upgrade has really freshened the rooms and public spaces. We stayed at the Drake Holiday Inn March 2007. While the room decor was 'outdated', it was clean, the staff was friendly and we felt perfectly safe. Renovations are taking place in May 2007. We wouldn't hesitate to stay there again. more

The condition of the room and especially the bedding was unacceptable for a national chain, such as Holiday Inn Express. The pillows were especially old, flat and stained. This was a very nice hotel. It was across the street from Drake University and a few miles from downtown. The rooms were clean and the staff friendly. Our car broke down and they allowed us to extend our check out time past noon. They provided us with a local tax service and gave us directions to the downtown area.... more

Good location directly across from airport. Hotel was clean. The rooms on the inside overlook the pool, game and eatery area, so it could be a bit loud. No free breakfast here, but I tried their quick eatery near the pool and it was good. more

the hotel itself was in a good location for everything. The maid service was ok. The only complaints that I had was the mechanic could not fix the toilet problem in the room . I stayed at the Holiday Inn Express at Drake for the annual Track and Field Relays. It was a perfect location for everything. The hotel was close to the University and nearby just about everything else. The service was top notch. I just couldn't have had a nicer stay, it was delightful. more
