Stayed here for an athletic event that was across the street and should have stayed elsewhere. From the moment we walked in the staff was not exceptionally friendly. While I understand that this is a budget property, I still expect a certain level of hospitality. The check-in started with a rather unfriendly person in reception. When we checked in to... More

Ok for the price. Some of the hallways smelled like smoke that were designated as non smoking. Decent breakfast. I would probably spend some extra money & stay somewhere else next time. You get what you pay for so lots of loitering in the hallway. 3 young men smoking cigars on the steps by an entrance. Room was ok...bathroom not... More

...is not an easy thing to do. EconoLodge and Choice Hotels were my way of getting from points A to B comfortably with my dog. I've stayed at Choice Hotels in the past because of their liberal pet policy, so I planned our trip around their locations. Our first stop from home was Des Moines. The EconoLodge was comfortable, with... More

Stayed here twice on a trip out and back. First time we had 2 queen beds, second time, one king. The beds were firm, which I prefer. The king bed only had 2 pillows, so I asked for extras, which were immediately supplied. Everything was very clean and staff was very pleasant. Breakfast was standard, and well stocked. The room... Stayed here for one night , passing through the area. We had a decent , clean room. The staff was friendly. The breakfast was very good. We would stay here again if we traveled through Des Moines again.

Had one of the hardest matresses we have ever tried to sleep on. Had a grandmother that we used to joke about her sleeping on a slate pool table. Swear the mattress, at least in our room at this Econolodge, was every bit that hard. Not saying every room has rock hard mattresses. We had already unpacked and gone to... More

Just passing through iowa and found this great exit with all restaurants and shopping. They do a great job of keeping the property clean which is all I was looking for. All in all a great value. Thanks!

We were pleasantly surprised and had a great inexpensive stay for a couple days and were close to the interstate for travel. The rooms we used were single queen bed rooms and had been freshly repainted and very clean. It was quiet on our end of the building. They do have a separate blocked off side of building for smokers... More

A quick overnight in Des Moines when other higher end motels down the street were booked brought us to this Econolodge. It's nicer than the one in my hometown but still an average place for the cost. Room was clean and comfortable. Tube-style TV instead of LCD common in other chains. Huge parking lot in the rear for RVs, trucks,... More

Passing thru on my way to Washington state and was looking for something cheap and clean after searching different sites and reading reviews I came across this hotel and this was it. For an overnite you can't beat the price. Would most definitely stay here again.
