I was nervous from reading some of the reviews but ended up very pleased. I thought the lobby was pretty. Our suite was very nice and clean. I found the staff to be accomadating. I was inpressed by the breakfast. I will definately stay here again. more

I travel to Embassy Suites all over the country old and new. This hotel is so far below Embassy Standards its unbelievable. The rooms are so musty that you could see the dust blowing in the sunlight when the fan was running. They bolted the window shut so I couldn't get a breath of fresh air in my room. The... more

Pros: Breakfast cooked by friendly breakfast chef - the only member of the staff who was friendly or helpful in any way. He's a real gem. FUN manager's cocktail reception with unlimited drinks. Cookies at front desk during the afternoon and early evening. Rooms are large, if dated. Cons: Shabby hotel sadly in need of updating - especially the bathrooms!... more

A total disappointment. We've stayed at several other properties and had excellent experiences, but this one really lacked. Pros: Clean room. Kind and knowledgable staff. Great shuttle around downtown. Good Location with nice city views. Nice workout facility. Plenty of easily accessible parking. Cons: Pool was freezing! Hot tub was scalding hot. The faucet in the wet bar dripped all... more

The only thing this hotel has going for it is the location. The rooms are way overpriced , they charge for internet , and they stop serving breakfast at 9am. Also , not the cleanest either...there were the same room service food trays in the hallway for atleast 12 hrs and you had to walk around them . Im glad... more

Having spent a week in Chicago, we headed to Des Moines and the Embassy suites for a couple of days. Very easy to find and we had a lovely room on the 8th (top) floor overlooking the front of the hotel. The two rooms of the suite were large with extra sinks in the lounge and bedroom which were useful.... more

We stayed at this Embassy Suites for one night in the middle of a recent trip. The location of the hotel was fantastic. The east village was an easy walk from the hotel and then the other direction was the main part of downtown. All very accessible by foot. The hotel itself is right on the river, and the atrium... more

My girlfriend and I decided to stay at the Embassy Suites for a short trip away from the apartment, and a relaxing night in the hot tub. Well, as we were checking in, it stated that the hot tub was closed for maintenance. We knew we were in for it after that. We went up to the room and the... more

Rarely do I find a property where I have nothing (but great feedback) to say. Clean as a whistle (ok there were fingerprints on the bedroom window). Great service. Room was spotless. Carpeting didn't need vacuming. Bathroom was spotless. Bedspread was clean. Etc. Only negatives: one half ounce shampoo and conditioner sizes. more
