As a value motel, this one works. The room was clean, although it was a little cramped. (A very large desk is in the room with an armoire for the TV.) You have to shimmy around the bed to get through. There is a smoking wing that we accidentally walked down. I definitely prefer smoke free hotels. Allowing any smoking... More

Booked a room at the Super 8 late last night through TripAdvisor and then through Booking.com. Unfortunately, I forgot to double check the dates and booked the wrong night. When we got to the hotel, we didn't have a reservation but the front desk staff was kind enough to call the manager and work out a solution. We stayed the... More

horrible service. Had money stolen out of my bag to manager about it said he cleaning staff wouldn't do it but admitted to the, going threw my things. Wouldn't give me my money back or discount my room. Was very rude and not nice about any of it. Hung up on my wife numerous times. Will never stay there by... More

The room was clean, beds comfortable, but the fixtures and decor needed updating and maintenance. Mini-fridge choked with frost, wall lamps bent, burned out lights. The shower is 5 feet tall (I'm 6-4), but excellent pressure. Lilliputian bathroom. Not much of a breakfast, I'm afraid.

We stayed at this hotel for two nights while we attended the Iowa State Fair (which was FABULOUS) by the way. We arrived late on both nights and used the hotel only to sleep. It is not fancy nor does it offer many amenities beyond the basics. It is an older property, but the room was clean and the bed... More

This hotel was everything we needed. Got a great welcome, very efficient check in. Good sleep when we wanted and staff did all they could for us. We were there to play golf all over Des Moines with some Iowan friends. There is a restaurant next door with an Irish theme, Brannigans I think the name was. we only ate... More

I stayed at this Hotel two nights last week, and have stayed there for overnights once a year in July for the past 4 or 5 years. It is an OK place for the Traveler or Business person on a Budget. The Manager and staff are friendly, and the morning breakfast is OK. They have a Pool, but it was... More

Looking for a quick, inexpensive "basic" place to stay for one night, I had grabbed a coupon from the Iowa border visitor center for this hotel. While the price was good (approx. $50 for the night), the room and hotel is very basic and even dated in places. The bed was acceptable (King) and the facility upkeep decent, but the... More

This was an overnight stop, a little over half way from Colorado Springs to mid-Michigan. We liked that it was a little over half-way through the Des Moines area so we missed most of the morning going to work traffic when we left. The room was comfortable and the pool was nice for this type of a hotel. Good value.

My wife and I stayed on Friday Aug. 5, 2011. We we're traveling home to Michigan and after checking with the AAA Tour Guide decided that this hotel would suffice for a quick overnight stay. We found a coupon in one of those "discount books" at a rest area giving a rate of $52. Upon arrival we were told that... More
