This is a great campground. Right on the Upper Iowa River and about a half-hour walk into town. Trails nearby, clean bathrooms and showers, vending, firewood for sale, friendly staff and quiet in the evening for a campground of this size.

My son and I've been to this campground three times in the last year. Price is very reasonable and the trout fishing near the campground is an added bonus. You are close to town but you feel like you're out in the wilderness. There are excellent fishing spots around this campground. I would definitely recommend this to anybody wanting a... More

We did not set up a reservation and they were able to accomodate us very nicely just before a very busy weekend. The staff was very nice. We just did our first ever camping experience at pulpit rock. We arrived on a Friday afternoon in June and had no trouble gett ing a spot (you can't reserve in advance). I look forward 2 camping every year at Pulpit Rock...I try 2 get there every year for Nordic Fest...it is sometimes difficult 2 get a spot at that time but I love the Decorah area....the trails, the people, the food, the streams. DECORAH~Decorates Iowa!! ~Toledo, IA

Ive been going to pulpit rock campground since i was very little me and my father still go and try our luck at one of the many trout steams North Bear being my favorite.The people that stay at and run Pulpit rock are very nice along with the GREAT facilities.
