We pulled in around 2:30 AM on the Fourth of July. At that time of the morning, after a day that began at 6 the previous morning, checking into the hotel could go very well, "meh", or, "oh lord, I am in hell." It went very well indeed. The desk clerk, obviously a night owl, was friendly and got us... More

First for the "SHINES"...Front desk personnel were friendly. The room was clean and the bed perfect to our liking....comfortable and firm (of course we were tired after 10 hours on the road). There was a good supply of soap. Room had an iron, ironing board and hair dryer. And, there were two sinks. At 5:00 PM there are fresh chocolate... More

I imagine the cost for staying here was so high because the College World Series was taking place at this time. Our room was comfortable and quiet, but the breakfast was very limited. I think the room rate should be $50--$75 lower than what was being charged.

I rarely stay at a non-brandname hotel, so I was taking a chance on the Western Inn. I was completely going off of the TripAdvisor and Google reviews. It was the cheapest option for what we needed. Pro's: - Check in was a breeze (opted out of the cookies or hotdogs offered). - Rooms were very large and CLEAN. Yes,... More

The Western Inn in Council Bluffs IA was nice but was $88 with the AAA discount. They provided complementary hot dogs (which were ok) and fresh baked chocolate chip cookies (which were hard as rocks). The breakfast was continental and not impressive. The room was clean and the soap smelled good. We had a room on the 2nd floor and... More

This is a very basic hotel. It has the requisite features - free continental breakfast, etc. - but it's not too impressive. There is not much - if any - sound proofing. We heard the guest above us stomping around for hours. The pillows were extremely thin and couldn't block much of the sound from above. Despite this, once asleep,... More

Don't let the neighborhood keep you away. This hotel is quiet, clean and very well run. There are hotdogs and cookies available in the evening and the continental breakfast is very good. The room was very nice and extremely quiet. You can tell the owners and managers really care about this place and do everything in their power to make... More

We just got back from spending Saturday night at this hotel. From the outside it is a bland, brick building, but it is surprisingly nice-looking on the inside lobby/rooms, if not somewhat outdated. The TV is not LCD/LED/plasma, but the screen is still large. The reception was a little grainy, but the channels came in okay. The room was bigger... More

Western Inn is very accommodating; we had looked up reviews here (agree with Roger K on all points). Our travel plans had us arriving very early, before typical check-in times. I called the manager and found they were willing to let us check in before 9 am. This was a Wednesday which was also the day they serve a hearty... More
