I had the misfortune of staying here this past weekend. The hotel reeks of smoke - even the non-smoking floors. The facility is very run down - needs major renovations. The staff was hit or miss - some were nice, others ignored you, others neglected to do their job. Cleaniness was a major issue and I found bugs - I... more

Bio: Platinum with Marriott, Holiday Inn. Diamond with Hilton. Gold with Starwood. Average 150 nights a year. Worst year: 332 nights. First thing first: THERE ARE NO RATS. THERE IS A MAZE. The Holiday Inn is attached to the Hampton Inn - it is about 20-30 mins from the Cedar Rapids airport, and 3 minutes from the mall. The front... more

Traveling from Colorado to the East Coast with a large dog requires careful planning (which I did) as hotel options are limited and we are used to suffering with smoking rooms and understand and sincerely respect the other restrictions and fees when traveling with our pet. Based upon the facilities and reviews I chose this Holiday Inn and booked the... more

We stayed in a 2 room, king, non smoking suite at this hotel. The room is newly renovated, has new furniture, new carpet, and a beautiful little kitchenette (refrigerator, microwave, sink). The rooms are divided by a wall, not a door, but it still works. The living room, as I like to call it, is the size of a standard... more

Had a nice stay at the Holiday Inn. The room was clean and the hotel looked clean for the most part. The hot tub must have been 120 degrees when we were there! HOT! HOT!. It was a nice facility, but hold on to your shorts if you are ordering a drink from their bar, prices are a bit steep. more

We booked through Hotwire, which is usually not a problem. They booked us immediatly intio a smoking room, not pleased by that. The noise in the halls is very loud and the doors do little to stop converstaions. There was some family reunion going on outside my door. Apparently " Babs just' got in from Des Moines and boy is... more

My 11 year old son and I stayed here overnight when my son had an appointment at the University of Iowa clinics. I liked it because it was very accessable and close to the Clinics. We had a very easy, friendly check-in and we ate at the adjoining restaurant for dinner. There weren't many other people there, but I found... more

I've stayed here twice, most recently a few weeks ago. This hotel is conveniently located just north of I-80 exit 242. It's about a 5 minute drive to the university campus and there are several restaurants and shops along the way towards town. The hotel isn't too bad. I question it's 3-star rating, but I'm generally not a big fan... more

We have stayed in this hotel before and will stay here again. The rooms are clean enough and the price is reasonable. We stay here as our child attends the University of Iowa. My only complaint is the restaurant. Specifically, the service at breakfast time is horrible and this has happened every visit. Foolishly, I always think it will change.... more

Overall, the hotel was in an accessible area and is clean and well-kept. We stayed there for two nights as part of a reception. The banquet facilities were nice and the food was excellent. Our main complaint about this hotel was the service in the restaurant. It was terribly slow. We waited for half an hour after ordering to get... more
