We stayed at the Hartwood Inn because it has the only outdoor pool in Charles City.

The pool, was nice -- a bit cool but refreshing. The motel has a quiet location near the river and away from the freeway bypass. The river side is a good, relaxing place to take the dogs for a walk after dinner. A free continental breakfast is available. The room was a bit dark due to the small window. Walls were slightly grubby and we found a used coffee bag in the coffee maker but the new owners may be able to fix that.

In short, the Hartwood Inn is a quiet place to stay in Charles City at a reasonable cost. more
