If u like haunted houses then u would more than likely love this place. Not for this travel nurse. Don't let the pictures fool u it looks nothing like this. When u pull in the grass is knee high. Grounds not taken care of at all. When u walk in it is very dark no lights in parking lot at... More

I'm late writing this because I saw "Hotel Hell" on TV and this place reminded me of the show. The positives: the entry is nice the staff was nice. You can tell at one point, the hotel was the crown jewel of the area. The German style was fun. The negatives: just the facts. We ate at the restaurant, I... More

The room was lovely in the tower, the hotel was charming with the decor and the stained glass windows and thought thay it was a real bargain at the price we paid for 1nite. Good food great staff. Haven't. Slept that good in a hotel for a long time. Loved the feeling of being in a old chalet. Just loved... More

The view of this hotel as you approach is a cross between a Medieval Ski Chalet and Disneyworld's Tower of Terror. Once you enter, it's like Rod Serling has transported you into the Twilight Zone. Just finding the real front door can be a challenge. Everything in the lobby and guest rooms looks like it's all been here since the... More

I would stay again. Very relaxing and the meals were very good and plentiful. The atmosphere and the staff was out of this world nice. The next time we stay we are thinking of taking our friends from Green Bay, Wisconsin.

The Lodge is a unique, old German hotel that will be completely remodeled sometime this year. Yes, it is in need of updating, but was still very clean and comfortable for my husband and I. It was fun to make memories somewhere other than the typical "Holiday Inn" hotel. Breakfast was delicious and even had a piano player. Fireplace in... More

It was bad enough that this dark, gloomy "lodge" -- with worn-out carpeting, peeling wall paper, a broken towel rack, a mattress that was too soft, lighting too dim to read by, an inedible buffet, an outdoor swimming pool that was closed to swimmers and a toilet that didn't flush -- was way overpriced at $103 the night we stayed.... The Lodge is a very cool, old hotel; heavy on the "old". All, and I mean all, of the furniture looked like stuff my grandparents might have owned, and I'm not in my 20's, 30's or 40's. The toilet didn't flush (but was fixed quickly), the shower made the pipes hum loudly, the ancient carpet in our room had not... More

Third visit and sadly just now getting to review. This place is an 'old' German replica. I am from Cincinnati and constantly careful with historical German architecture, so The Lodge is like a playhouse for me (the walls don't crumble when you slam a door, etc.). Though some upgrades should be in order in the future, it is quite comfortable,... More
