This is probably the newest hotel in the area, right downtown, near the arena and ISU. I had to be on campus fairly early, so I wanted a nearby location (and not along I-70) and this fit the bill. I also am a big supporter of downtowns and adaptive reuse, and this hotel was apparently the headquarters for the local paper at one point - and it appears they are building an expansion. Since everything is new, expectedly it is in excellent shape. Because of the building, my room had a very high ceiling, which was really nice. I had a smaller suite, but the flat-planel tv and all the bedding and furnishings were done to a high standard. VERY quiet. The pantry has very reasonably priced snacks and soft drinks, and there is a well-equipped business center. The parking is open, but I doubt that's too much of an issue.
There is a Hilton Garden Inn right across the street (also a rehabbed building) with an excellent breakfast buffet, and Candlewood guests pay less than the Hilton... more
