This is a place to come to chill out after your travels through Colombia. We were lucky to have a huge hut, less than 100 metres from the sea. I went into the sea about twice a day and found it pleasantly warm. But you don’t exactly swim – it’s more a fight with the succession of waves that pound... More

This was our first time in El Matuy, and my husband and I were very impressed! The evening has a gentle breeze that makes the trees rustle just a bit, and being able to hear the waves crashing onto the shore at night is magical. There is a lot to do here! You can go swimming, explore the resort, get... More

It was a great experience for the hole family. Staying in a candle lighted ecohub, next to the wild sea, the amaising food, friendly staff and guests... You can even play beachvolleyball. The stay was just perfect. We made long walks at the beach. Unfortunately the beach in front of the resort is too dangerous for swimming. We walked for half... More

We stayed in a lovely beach hut w a very cool outside bathroom. Everything was clean and it was definitely a gorgeous place to spend some time. The food was DELICIOUS. At night everything is lit up in candles since there is no electricity in the main area - for atmosphere not because its cheap or dodgy. The issue for... More

Dear Colehaber, Regarding your recent stay at El Matuy, we graciously thank you for the positive comments about the food, service and overall ambience that El Matuy provides. It is unfortunate that you found the lack of activities displeasing, as the Front Desk offers daily excursions to places such as the Palomino river for tubing trips, Quebrada Valencia or Parque... I have been going to El Matuy for many years. It is an amazing place to disconnect from the rush in our lives and reconnect with nature. The cabins are comfortable and the food is amazing! There is no electricity in cabins, however you can find electric plugs and Wi-Fi at reception. Can't wait to go back!

El Matuy is a true slice of paradise. Having it's own beach right on the Caribbean ocean it's easy to spend the day laying in a hammock and enjoying the wonderful setting around you. The cabins are very comfortable and you fall asleep every evening listening to the ocean and the local wildlife. The staff is amazing, they are the... More

A relaxing and romantic escape. There is not electricity at night but you have candles to light up which makes the place so relaxing and romantic to spend with your partner. The Cabañas are great ( ours was quite big and we were just two) ... They have open air shower. Love it! The service is great.. Very kind people.... More

Have stayed multiple times and I think this is one of the best sites in the country for a get away destination fro locals and tourists. Food is amazing, and the hosts and employees are super friendly. One of the most amazing beaches in Colombia. There is no electricity, so this makes the Matuy a perfect spot to relax and... More

If you're looking to get away from it all, look no further than El Matuy. This gorgeous eco-resort is private and electricity-free, leaving you no choice but to relax and unwind on its picturesque beach front, nap in a hammock, or sip a beer and read a book. We stayed for three days in mid-December to attend a wedding before... More

Beautiful cabins placed on the nicest beach. No electricity at night gives you the perfect chance to enjoy the stars. The staff was really helpfull when our daughter got sick. The food was excellent. Great place to relax. Our family will always remember this place.
