I attended a writing conference at this park. Love the Inn, the meeting room, and the restaurant. The park itself is gorgeous. Many hiking trails. Close to Bloomington, but not much else right in Spencer.

And there is no admission charge during the winter months. Hiking, caving outdoors. Dining, resting, board games in the inn. There is also a small gift shop. When there is a fire in the fireplace, nothing could be cozier.

We have visited multiple times and stayed in the cabins and love it here. We were only able to book one night over Fall Break, which makes a lot of work for one night! But it is so nice here at the park. Be prepared, it is no Holiday Inn or Hampton, but a rustic semi-furnished cabin with a musty... More

I love this park!!! Quiet and peaceful. Clean and well maintained. The shower water at the comfort station was possibly the hottest water I have ever tried to shower in but it worked well. Got to do the wolf cave trail for the first time in years and the first time since a serious long term illness. I thought I... More

We have camped at McCormicks Creek twice this summer and have at least two more trips planned before we have to shut the camper down for the winter. This is our favorite State Park, especially for camping. The campground is fully wooded with many campsites being very privately located to the neighboring sites. That doesn't mean that you can't see... More

First time using our new teardrop camper and McCormick's Creek campground was perfect. Helpful staff, hookups were easy to use, close to the shower/restrooms (but not too close). Park is very clean and well-maintained. Other campers were very friendly and helpful.

This was our first time camping at McCormick's Creek. Beautiful park with great trails. We camped in the rustic tent area. Great area with a decent amount of separation between campsites. Pit toilets in this area are, well pit toilets. The camp ground did appear to mop this area once or twice a day. The trails are great. We hiked... More

I had never visited McCormick's Creek State Park and went just to have a bit of a getaway. I found this park to be beautiful.. The creek was thundering when I was there due to several days of rain. It was wonderful to see the power of nature and its beauty at the same time. The trails are wonderful some... More

My family and I stay at Mccormicks creek sometimes for semi local getaways. We always have fun and in the past the staff has been nice and accommodating. This is a big reason we choose them as there are other drawbacks that lead us elsewhere sometimes. These include lack of fire rings, lack of indoor activities in times of bad... More

When we drove up to the lodge, my DH remarked, "Are we staying in a mental institution?!?" Indeed, the lodge at McCormick's Creek SP is a former sanatorium. You'll recognize the design: back in the 30s - 40s there must have been some master blueprint every state used to build these things. Inside, the management has done quite a bit... More
