Water stains on the ceilings, peeling wallpaper, scuffed and stained carpets, burned/brown light fixture in the bathroom. Shower temperature ran hot and cold, could not maintain setting. Hallways had a stale smell. On the bright side, the room was spacious and the beds comfortable. Linens fresh, room seemed clean overall. Free garage parking. Front desk staff friendly and helpful. First the holiday inn sign was still outlined on the building. The rooms were outdated and when we first arrived there was no power in our room. The thermostat did not work so our room was 80 degrees the entire night. Not a great place to stay.

The hotel is old and has a moldy smell. The customer service was great. The shower was not if great quality. The only temperature of the heat and air is cold. There is no ventilation in the bathroom. There is no microwave. The pillows are lumpy. There is a chase ATM. This was not worth $89.99 per night. The night... More

For the price this hotel was acceptable, nothing elegant or luxurious, but I got a good nights sleep without hearing neighbors through the walls, which is very important to me. Apparently this was an old Holiday Inn as some items in the rooms still had that name on them. The room was clean, the shower was old/moldy and didn't look... More

This place is a bit older and downtown a few blocks from the river and Century Center. Room was clean and had the usual layout. King bed with white linens, chair with ottoman, desk and office chair, medium size flat screen TV on a dresser, and a small ledge with coffee maker and supplies. The only toiletries were soap and... I enjoyed my stay overall at the Magnuson Grand Hotel. Desk clerk was friendly, parking was convenient, room was clean, and the view was wonderful!!! It is a location that has switched brands as some items were still old hotels branding on them, but overall, for the cost and location, very pleased.

The hotel is very old needs renovating badly. The rooms show their age especially the bathroom. The price for the room was reasonable and its hard to complain about a $54 room. The rooms are very basic. The location is great for walking downtown. We were able to walk to places for lunch. Also parking was included in the night... More

Now I understand why this hotel had reservations available at the last minute. Stained, torn carpets, or mended very badly. Scuff marks on the walls. Rusty, dirty water coming from the shower. Ladies of the night hitting up other lodgers in the elevator. One very uninterested night clerk. Bad smells. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. The only... More

The hotel is OK, on game day its fine, expensive but fine. Then, ALL hotels around South Bend are expensive on game day. Staff was not very friendly and rooms were clean enough. If its not game day go somewhere else.

Stayed here last night, previously stayed back in 2006, it's a shame to see it now, sorry I returned. Back in 06 it was a vibrant hotel and did good business and looked good. It was a quality budget hotel. Now it's tired and faded. The room I got was a corner room with stunning views. Some floors look like... More
