The hotel staff was great. I had forgotten my Indiana map and the staff person at the desk let me keep the hotel's map overnight and trusted me to return it, which I did. The breakfast was great and you can make your own waffles! The room was tastefully decorated and very clean. I would recommend the Van Buren Hotel... More

We visited Shipshewana last week. The staff at the Van Buren Hotel was so pleasant! Before we arrived, my boyfriend had called the hotel and arranged for flowers to be sent my room for my birthday. They were very helpful in getting this taken care of. The hotel was very clean and quiet. The complimentary breakfast was delicious and they... More

The pros: Location is convenient to all the Shipshewana goings on; facilities are clean and well-kept; beds are very comfortable; a/c is powerful; free hot & cold breakfast; friendly staff. The cons: Dated decor and old carpet; rather thin walls - baby crying at night then screeching in the AM; pretty sure the 'bleach' smell other reviewers mention is actually... More

Very friendly - clean - convenient - and the breakfast is great! The room was quiet, no loud party people, the location was close to everything we wanted to do. This is just minutes from the Flea Market, but I really enjoyed the downtown shops. Maybe it's just more my style but the little shops were so much fun and... More

We booked this hotel based on reviews on trip advisor and were very impressed. The hotel staff was very friendly and it was exceptionally clean. When we stay at hotels we always wipe everything down with a clorox wipe and normally find that there is some funk around, especially on the remote. After cleaning this hotel room the wipe was... Such a wonderful hotel! Stayed here for 2 nights in late July. The rooms were very comfortable and very clean. The front desk personnel were friendly and check-in was a breeze. The complimentary breakfast was very good...eggs, sausage, toast, biscuits, waffles, fruit. It was well maintained and the staff was friendly and most efficient. I'm sure when we visit Shipshewana... Property is clean and well maintained. Staff is friendly and courteous. Breakfast buffet was well stocked but seating was limited. I would stay here again if I was in the area and wouldn’t have problem recommending it to others.

Clean rooms with Wifi. Staff was friendly and helpful. Good daily breakfast. Enjoyed the wonderful Amish atmosphere and it being close to the Shipshewana Flea Market and all the unique shopping places of arts, crafts, and antiques.

The hotel was one of the cleanest, I have ever stayed at. The rooms were not only clean but smelled great. The breakfast was nice and the staff was extremely friendly. If I were to ever visit Shipshewana again, I would stay at the Van Buren.

There is beauty all around this motel. It is modern and has beautiful rooms. Very good breakfast daily. You can open your windows at night and listen to the Amish horse buggies clicking down the road. We have stayed at four motels in Shipshewana and like this one the best.
