Stayed 1 Sunday night en route. No problem arranging for late arrival. Could not believe the beautiful architectural details, (woodwork, mirrors, windows etc.) and interesting antiques. A step back in time but with good wifi, good water pressure, shared mini fridge in the hall, yummy Quiche breakfast. (Again no problem having it prepared earlier than regular schedule.) We stayed in... More

We had the master bedroom which features a four-poster bed and reading corner as part of the turret. The property is well-maintained, and the rooms are nicely decorated and furnished with antiques. We enjoyed the stained glass window in the bedroom and staircase. This B&B and the Martha E. Parry are located about two blocks apart on busy Main Street.... More

Beautiful building and rooms, good breakfast, across from scenic park, very accommodating hosts. Just loved being in Parry House and it was quite comfortable. Only issue - which couldn't be helped - was traffic noise at night, especially in smaller downstairs room in Parry. The owners let me move; it's a bit better upstairs. Overall a good experience.

My friend and I stayed one night at the Phillip W. Smith house while on a road trip. We had originally booked two rooms in June but had to cancel at the last minute and reschedule for October. Jill was very attentive and accommodating and we were able to use our deposit for the June reservations in October. We arrived... More

My sister, mother, and I stayed at this B&B (my first time!!) while on the Chocolate Trail in Richmond. The B&B was extremely clean and friendly. The poor owners had to make an ER trip right before check-in, but left envelopes with keys and directions for those of us checking in. The beds were comfortable and there was a guest... More

We arrived late at night after a 7 hour drive. We left within 10 minutes of being in room #3 due to the moldy smell. The mattress was formless and mushy. The scratchy threadbare polyester sheets repulsive. I felt the need to place a T-shirt over my pillow case. I sat in the bed for about 5 minutes and could... More

This sister property to the Smith house is owned by a couple who are admirably buying, rewtoring and prserving these beautiful and historic homes. The Perry house is available along with Smith house bookings, and is about a half a block from both the Smith house and where the owners live ( so there is hands on, immediate response when... More

The hosts were pleasant. The bedding was nice. The cleanliness was okay, although the house smelled old and musty. The food was horrible. We were promised a homemade dessert, which was slice and bake cookies in a plastic tupperware. Breakfast was promised to be a homemade quiche. I doubt it was homemade; certainly the crust was not. Either way, it... More

Do not make a reservation here. I reserved a room for my parents in honor of my mothers 80th birthday. A week after the reservation was accepted online ( and I informed my parents of the gift) the Bed and Breakfast notified me by email that the reservation would need to be for 2 nights and that the reservation I... Due to the reservation being booked online, an automatically generated response is sent. It states, "Reservations are confirmed via email and/or phone call. The reservation is in a request status until this notice is received." Upon receiving this particular request, we notified the potential guest of the two night minimum since it is a special event weekend at the local... More

We stayed one night at the Martha E. Perry House while we were in town doing the Chocolate Trail and exploring Richmond. The house is beautiful, very old and charming. We really enjoyed being pampered with an evening snack and being waited on for breakfast. We also really enjoyed talking with Kris at breakfast. We had some great conversations about... More
