I will agree that the lodge is outdated... However, it is an OLD building with a lot of history and I wouldn't have it any other way. Yes, you get actual keys- but I love that! The rooms are standard but roomy and comfy! We always stay in a king room and are never disappointed! I love the game room... More

My wife and thirteen yo son as well as her sister, and her husband and 2 children 7 and 9 drove down to Bloomington to visit our daughter at IU. We had stayed at the inn a few years back so we knew it would be a hit for the kids. It was a very busy weekend around the area... More

I recently stayed at the Abe Martin lodge for a meeting. The staff was courteous and willing to help in anyway possible. The rooms were average and slightly outdated, but the location within the state park was wonderful. There was also a small waterpark, it could be both enjoyed by children and adults. unfortunately we didn't get a chance to... More

Thank you so much for taking the time to let us know how we are doing. We are continuously working on updating our rooms, and we hope you get a chance to visit us again real soon - and maybe you will have time to view the park on 4 legs! The experience really can't be beat. More

My wife and I spent several days at the Abe Martin Lodge at the peak of Fall when the leaves were at the best. First we arrived on a Sunday and check in was at 4 pm. Problem was the room was not ready and the desk person said comeback in a few minutes. I returned 10 minutes later still... More

A few years ago my family stayed at one of the cabins that was advertised as handicap accessible. Going into the cabin we quickly realized the only beds were upstairs. We had to use the foldout couch on the bottom floor for my has been in a wheelchair. When I put him into the couch bed he almost sunk to... More

My family stayed in a family cabin, unit 19 on Monday (21st and 22nd of October) and checked out before Noon on Tuesday the 22nd. As another reviewer noted the family cabins at about $240 a night are a bit shabby. But the beauty of fall and the park trumped the outdated cabin and the marginally clean (at best) quarters.... First, manage your expectations. This is a hotel, which I think is owned and operated by the Parks Department. It is nice. Overall better than basic, but not fancy. We stayed in a Family Cabin, which is a freestanding 2-story "cabin." Really more of a basic house. Small kitchen, with refridgerator, stove, etc. Two bedrooms upstairs with queen-sized beds. Two... The room was very clean and comfortable. There isn't any type of continental breakfast however the restaurant is reasonably priced. We had to stand in line but it was on a Saturday and in October. The pool area looked like lots of fun but we didn't have time to enjoy it. It had slides and lots more than just a... More

We were very impressed with the lodge manager named Missy. She went beyond the call of duty to accommodate us in our stay at the lodge. The lodge is beautifully located in Brown County State Park, a great place to visit in Autumn.

When we arrived at the lodge we noticed the outside trashcans where overflowing and had attracted a lot of bees. One of which stung my daughter inside the lobby while we waited for thirty plus minutes (with several others) while our room was made ready. Keep in mind we arrived at 4pm. While waiting I visited the lobby restroom which... More
