We booked a room for our four children and ourselves....When we arrived we were told we had to have two rooms their is a 5 person rule they did give us a 40% discount per room due to the trouble it would have ment more if the rooms were connected we had to split up which really sucked....The worst part... My daughter and I spent a few days staying in a "rustic" cabin in early June at the Abe Martin Lodge. While I understand the concept of "rustic" there is a difference between staying in a "rustic" cabin and one that is just trashy. The price for the "rustic" cabins is definitely too much since they are definitely in need... More

My group of 3 adults and 3 children stayed in a family cabin since the lodge rooms were sold out. We were pleasantly suprised at how much space there was. It was what you would expect of a cabin - rustic and a little musty, but was a fun experience. The water park was fun for our kids ranging from... More

The lodge is a very nice place to stay with normal (good) accommodations and rooms. Price is fair, and it's located so you can easily enjoy the various elements of the Brown County state park. Parking is close to the building. The new water land with indoor pool, basketball, slide, and great hot tub (especially since it's 18 and over... More

This was a birthday getaway for my 12-yr-old granddaughter who wanted to visit the waterpark. The waterpark was very nice and they enjoyed it. We stayed in a patio room and really enjoyed being able to open the door and enjoy the nice patio to get some fresh air. The room was clean, although very outdated and musty. Not really... More

The good: A beautiful lodge and cabins built in 1932 from local stone and timber. Good food and service in the dining room. Forest hiking on a trail built by CCC. The bad: The "rustic cabins" appear on the web site to be spacious private cabins with front porches. Nowhere is it mentioned that they are *quadruplexed*. You actually get... More

We were six women who shared a cabin in the Brown County State Park, Abe Martin Lodge. The cabin was rustic and was well supplied for our needs. We enjoyed watching the large variety of birds from our balcony and swam in the wonderful pool which allowed for not only lap swimming but an area for the children and a... More

Four couples celebrated the men's 50 yr reunion by staying at the Abe Martin Lodge. Stayed in the newer rooms in the annex with king beds. Rooms could use some upgrading in the furniture and lounge chairs. Both look worn out. Mattresses were upgraded and we slept well. Shower area with toilet one of the smallest I've ever seen. Most... First off, everyone should set their expectations: this is “rustic” lodging at a state park, which usually means 1-2 steps above camping. We stayed in Constable Newt Plum cabin for two nights. The cabin was divided into two small, adjoining rooms with a door between. My husband, toddler and I were in one room, while my mother was in the... More

First the good...the lodge is located in the beautiful Brown County State Park in Nashville, Indiana. My husband and I just ran the Dances with Dirt Gnaw Bone 50K. The trails in the park were gorgeous. They also have bike and horse trails. We were able to get to the start line in under 10 minutes. The room has a... More
