I can't say enough about this beautiful 1887 historic home & bed and breakfast! The Black Dog Inn was beyond our expectations. We stayed in room #4 (Jake's Room) with a king size bed and private attached bathroom. The room was very spacious, there was a table, couch, love seat, TV, all the amenities to make it feel like home!... More

My wife and 4 yr old daughter loved this place. We met some very nice families and are planning on making this an annual family getaway every summer. The owners are great hosts. Our whole weekend at Indiana Beach/Monticello was the best because of where we stayed. Can't wait for our next stay!

As one who spends a lot of time traveling for work, I stay in too many monotonous hotels. Finding the Black Dog Inn was a refreshing change. Not only is it lovely, it is a true escape. The first time I saw it (when I was checking out local hotels and bed and breakfasts), I fell in love with it... More

We booked this place based on tripadvisor reviews. The reviews were good obviously but doesn't do the place justice. Black dog inn was the cleaniest place I've ever stayed and I'm picky! We have a young child and I HATE staying in places away from home. This stay was the first time I was able to take a deep breath... More

We stayed here on June 16th and we were absolutely pleased!! Tom and Vicki were absolutely pleasant; and lets not forget Bo, he was so sweet! Our room was comfortable and roomy. We could walk to the boardwalk which was very convenient. Definitely will be our place to stay when we come back with the kids! It is a charming... More

We stayed here as an alternative to our plans. We attempted to book a cottage, but at the last minute, we were told there were none available. In a way, I'm very glad that happened, because we would have never found this wonderful place. The room was very cozy, and we were very pleased with the stay, and the breakfasts... More

We stayed here August 11-14, 2011. The innkeepers, Tom and Vicki, were laid back folks and their dog, Bo, was super friendly and would just hang out in our room if the door was open. We're dog people especially Labradors, so it was like home away from home. The home is older but well maintained. The rooms were very clean,... More

Our family loved this place. The owners Tom and Vicki have retained all the original charm and character of the inn while providing all the modern amenities. The rooms were immaculate, the breakfast was hearty, and the company of Tom, Vicky, and their black lab Bo really won this place over for us. The inn is walking distance to Indiana... More

Although we came for a wedding, this B&B is the perfect location if you are visiting Indiana Beach - it is right next to the entrance and on the lake! The room was clean, quiet and well furnished and the bed was comfortable. Breakfast was biscuits & gravy plus toast & cereal and fresh fruits. Highly recommended!

The Black Dog Inn is a quiet, shady oasis located just steps from Indiana Beach and all of its adjacent offerings. It is beautifully maintained, exceptionally clean, and very reasonably priced. Our room was pretty, comfortable, and spotless. Tom and Vicki are wonderful hosts: kind and helpful yet unobtrusive. Beau (the lab) is very well-mannered--but if you'd like to pet... More
