We stayed in the Honeymoon Suite, which had amazing views of the icy water. I bet in the summer it is fantastic, but I recommend a weekend getaway in the off season. Less crowded. The breakfast was delicious. Coffee was only so-so, but I wouldn't hold that against them. The hosts, Bonnie and Mike, are lovely, friendly folks. And I... More

Recently I had the extreme pleasure of visiting the The Lighthouse Bed and Breakfast. Although it was winter but my and honey were truly impressed!!! We loved the seclusion but the beauty of the bed and breakfast. The owners Bonnie and Mike were simply a joy to be around and patches was great security (LOL)! We will definitely will be... More

Off season getaway--AMAZING! TripAdvisor search revealed a jem worth many returns. This charming lodge/b&b sits on a charming point on Schaeffer Lake. We rented the Honeymoon Suite and loved the views, the comfort, and the two person jacuzzi tub with an endless supply of hot water. The small balcony and huge windows allowed for a breathtaking sunset as we began... More

Mike and Bonnie are the greatest B&B hosts. Them and there establishment embody the very meaning of B&B. My only complaint is wish I could have stayed longer. I own a B&B in Colorado and they both went out of their way to answer all of my questions about our industry as they know how to do it right! Thanks... More

I believe my wife stumbled on the Lighthouse Lodge B and B and later learned that a friend of our stays there yearly. After reading great reviews we decided to book a 4 night stay. I emailed Mike (many times) and he got back to me promptly each and every time. Our emails turned from general questions to friendly conversations... More

We stayed in the assisted cabin, one level. We ate at the main lodge. The food was great. The lake was beautiful. We enjoyed the week with family, friends, and a granddaughter that joined us for day visits. What a wonderful week. The restaurants in town were great, although we could have cooked our own meals in the beautiful kitchen... More

This property is a hidden gem tucked away on the eastern shore of Lake Shafer, just south of Lowe's Bridge (double check your gps, ours had it on the western shore). Bonnie and Mike are welcoming hosts and the rooms/cottages are outfitted very well for a comfortable stay. Great "rec room" - breakfast area, lounge, TV, sun room, opens out... More

Everything about this place was perfect. The room was. Lean and well furnished no bed comfortable. The host went the extra mile. Took us out on their private boat and we also went out on a paddle boat on the lake all free of charge. The host supplied my partner with beer whilst they watched NFL. I relaxed in the... More

Lighthouse Lodge was recommended to us by the Realtor we are working with. When we drove through the cornfields and country r,oads, I thought, "ye gods, where are we going?" Well, when we got to the Bed and Breakfast, what a pleasant surprise awaited us! The place is clean and comfortable...and absolutely set on the best part of Lake Shaffer... More

Beautiful spot on lake shafer. Owners are warm and inviting. Rooms are big, comfortable , well equipped and the breakfast was delicious. Owners lil dog patches was a delight. There is a place to dock your own boat or there are reasonable boat rental marinas. There is a waterfall feature that was so relaxing as well.
