I stayed here for business one night so i didn't really have time to explore the whole complex. The room was very comfortable and quiet and decorated in very country style. There were lots of gathering spaces in the common areas, and cookies to snack on in the lobby. The bakery was excellent, and staff were very friendly and helpful.... More

We recently visited the giant flea market in Shipshewana, Indiana with friends who had stayed at this hotel previously, which is ten miles from the flea market. The hotel has a typical Amish restaurant which serves good hearty food and is very reasonably priced. To our surprise, the hotel was magnificently appointed with different furnishings in the public areas on... More

We were very very impressed with our stay! Beautiful room! Very very clean...lots of room ....comfy bed. We had a cute balcony. The views here are so beautiful and peaceful! Nice indoor pool and hot tub, even a kiddy pool..might be bringing the grandkids next time we stay. Everyone is very friendly and helpful and great cookies and coffee in... More

We very much enjoyed our stay at the Essenhaus Inn! The inn and grounds lend themselves nicely to a quiet, relaxing visit. The rooms and entire complex are spotless and beautifully decorated in the "country theme"...especially love the gorgeous quilts hanging in various places!! All the staff we met were friendly and helpful. The rooms were so welcoming and cozy...had... More

Our room was large and nicely appointed. We had a double-double. There was a dressing area with hanging space and a sink, handy when someone has steamed up the one in the large bathroom. The desk also had a nightlight which is nice when one gets up in a dark and unfamiliar room. Breakfast was a bit better than the... More

The Essenhaus Inn has expanded greatly; it has large, airy, comfortable rooms. Our room had a balcony that overlooked a pond, weeping willow trees, a covered bridge and the expansive property with walking paths. Although it also overlooked Route 20 which is busy, it was fun to watch both semis and Amish carriages go by. It was far enough from... More

My husband was attending a conference that was being held at the Inn's conference center and so we stayed there for the weekend. We had a standard room with two queen size beds, average size room with beautiful oak furniture but the wallpaper and curtains were a little tired looking. The bathroom was average size also and there was a... More

What a great place for a getaway. Staff is welcoming and helpful. I took my grand kids for an over night, and it was perfect. They went swimming a lot in the nice pool. The atmosphere is very cozy. Breakfast was great. Rooms are very spacious.

I stayed at the Essenhaus because of all the good reviews it has gotten online. I wasn't disappointed with my stay. The atmosphere is very pleasing with a home spun feel. The common areas including the pool are very well kept and great attention to detail. My room was large and included a sofa with coffee table. The bathroom was small... More

The staff was very friendly upon arrival. We had a 2nd floor atrium room which was very quiet, roomy, cozy, and clean. We stayed 3 nights. The only disappointment was that the shops did not open until noon and the signs all say 10:00 a.m. opening (with varied winter hours). I was there on a day of the varied hours.... More
