I'd stay here again. My wife and I broke away from our kids for a motorcycle ride along US12 and overnight rendezvous. We had dinner at Bartlett's down the road and an evening swim here (well maintained pool). It's just the basics, but the bed and pillows were comfortable and the service was friendly.

Recently my wife and took a mini vacation to the Indiana Dunes National Forest. We stayed at a mom and pop motel built in the 60's. Or room was very clean equipped with a mini fridge and coffee pop. Central air as well. The owners were very accommodating and friendly. While it was a little outdated and electrical outlets at... More

Looking for a place to stay for 1 nite and came across this gem on Trip Advisor. Room was very clean, comfortable and updated from the paint to the bath to the carpet to the furniture. Had fridge/freezer and coffee maker to boot. Outside was well manicured & had nice BBQ area with 3 Weber Kettles, horseshoe pits, picnic tables... More

My husband and I stayed here for 3 nights and absolutely LOVE it! I'm a bit of a weirdo when it comes to cleanliness and this place not only smelled clean and fresh, it was! Loved this retro motel! We also took another reviewers tip and drove down to Beverly Shores, hopped on the train into Chicago for the day!... More

Our stay there was very pleasant. Our room was very clean and smelled good. Nice sized room and bath with shower. Very comfortable bed! Our room had a flatscreen TV , and a fridge. I would recommend it to anyone who don't want to spend a fortune on a fancy hotel. I love a good, clean Mom & Pop motel!!

From time to time I stay in vintage motels from the 1940s. They’re usually shabby but cheap, and provide basic amenities. When I reserved a room at Al and Sally’s Motel on Dunes Highway in Michigan City, Indiana and learned the rate was $45 per night, I hoped it was clean and safe. Anything beyond that would be a bonus.... More

Very nice older one story motel. Family owned and operated, with friendly owners. We had a spacious room with two beds and a refrigerator. The room and grounds were clean and attractive. With good proximity to area attractions and beaches.

We enjoyed our stay at this hotel. For a low price, we got a room with 2 queen beds, and a separate room with two twin beds. Fridge and coffee machine too. Everything was nice and clean. Wireless worked. Location is pretty close to the train we took into Chicago for a day trip. The people who worked the desk... More

We LOVED that they hadn't mucked up their historic exterior, as the motel down the street appears to be in the process of doing. In fact, we were a bit disappointed that we ended up in the only room that didn't have its original door! So nice to see these motor inns preserved. The interior of the rooms have been... More

It was a great motel, pool in the back off the road. Rooms were clean and large complete with a frig. It was nice after a day of travelling and sightseeing to be able to sit outside our room and enjoy a quiet evening, something you can't get in a hotel. Would definitely stay here again.
