Got a King size room for $55 a night. Thought it was a good deal. Exterior of hotel is showing age. Parking not very well lit and full of pot holes. Interior of building has freighted carpet and dimly lit. Room had beer cap on the floor and pubic hair on toilet. Obviously had not been cleaned. No toilet paper... More

This is going to be the 3rd stay at this hotel within a month. I always want to come back and stay here. Shannon at the front desk is a true asset to the property. Met the GM and think she does a great job with the property and staff. Breakfast is a bit weak but continental enough to qualify.... More

The group I went to Merrillville/Hobart with decided to stay there again but I don't know why. Two years ago when I was there last the place had just gone under new management and were promising that there would be a lot of improvements done so I booked there instead of any other area motels. I couldn't see where anything... More

I booked a week at the Econo Lodge in Merrillville for late August 2014. I was in the area for some volunteer work -- modest accommodations would suffice, as I'd only be sleeping at the motel. Unfortunately, the property was not very clean and was poorly managed. There were many food spills in the corridors, trash was blown far and... More

Once upon a time this use to be a really nice place when it was Lee's Inn. My Husband and I made a quick trip to Merrillville to visit Family on Labor Day weekend. We got this place from Priceline.com. The staff is super nice - but the hotel.. OMG!! A moldy, mildewey MESS.. There was a roach in our... More

Here's an example of be careful with what you see on the web pages. The rooms were worn and dated. We only had on lamp in the room (and a hall light and bathroom light). The "comfortable" chair was so worn on the back that the stuffing was showing. The TV reception was not much better than when we had... More

I stayed two nights at this property. I found the room to be quiet and comfortable, although dated. But who cares about the furnishings when all you want is a good night's sleep. The people working the front desk were definitely a "cut above". They went so far as to print out directions to a location I was visiting in... More

We had been driving through a snow storm and had to pull over for the night. After calling various places for their rates and accessibility, this Econo Lodge had a great rate and even had a toddler pack-and-play which other places didn't. The complimentary breakfast was great; bread, muffins, pancake, cereal, etc. To top it off, the staff was very... More

We stayed in this Hotel Aug 5-8. We just needed a place to sleep as we were going to Chicago each day. No elevator in the Hotel, I can't do steps so they gave us rooms downstairs for $4 extra dollars a night. It is a no smoking Hotel my sister has ASMTHA as soon as they opened the room... More
