My husband and I chose this place because we wanted to visit the antique shops in LaPorte and surrounding towns. We chose one of the lakeside rooms with both a fireplace and a spa in the room. We were impressed by the cleanliness of the room and the bathroom, and the nice furnishings. We were on the third floor and... More

This review is based on comparing it to a Cabin... like in Chain O Lakes, not the Conrad. This is not the Conrad. :-) First off... it moves. it moves a lot during the day, less at night (boat traffic is down) but even when you walk around... and it makes some noise. It is clean, but shows signs of... More

I'd like to begin by saying that on my 60 years on Earth, I may've complained 2 or 3 times total. I know that things happen, and 99.9% of the time, I accept them as part of life and move on. Here's what we experienced this past weekend: When we made a reservation (Approximately 3 weeks ahead of time) ,... More

"Blue Heron / Red Herring" "NIGHTMARE ON LAKESIDE STREET!" With out a doubt the worst experience in a business in my life in an industry that is supposed to be based on hospitality. Thank God, the unstable, volatile owner doesn't work for the Post Office if you know what I mean! The owner's ranting and verbal assault left my daughter... More

This place has a lot of potential. It's right on Pine Lake and if you choose the right room, you can get a great view of the lake at a reasonable price. That is exactly what my husband and I did a couple years ago - we made a reservation for a specific room that we were told we could... More

We stayed for 2 nights (hotel has 2 night minimum requirement during summer season on weekends). Staff was helpful since we asked if possible to check in bit earlier since we had to change for a wedding. They have map of area in the front desk. Self serve hot breakfast was eggs and sausage and included fruit and yogurt. As... More

If you're near Indiana Dunes State Park, you will not find a better place to stay than the Blue Heron Inn. Our clean $99 Lakeview room had a jacuzzi, fireplace, king size poster bed, and a patio right on the water. There's a free hot breakfast and 24 hr. free cookies, coffee, and tea. They have a small heated pool... More

I was on a road trip and stumbled onto the Blue Heron Inn. Lucky me! The rooms are large and include a fireplace, a whirlpool tub, and a generously-sized coffee area and refrigerator. I had a beautiful lake view. And the rooms were spotlessly clean. Not everything in the room was new, but it was all very well maintained. So... More

This was our first visit, and wanted a quick weekend getaway. I found relaxation everywhere I looked, and our room was so cozy and clean. We enjoyed the jacuzzi in the room, and lake view. Room was updated with flat screen tv, beautiful bathroom and the bed and pillows were so comfortable. Frig in room was very convenient. The lobby... More

It's nearly 4,000 miles from London to the Blue Heron Inn, but arriving there late afternoon with the sun just starting to dip over the lake somehow instantly refreshes the heart as well as the spirits after a long journey. This hotel has been a favourite of ours since the early 90s, and to be honest, there are few places... More
