We were looking for romantic, somewhat secluded accom, on bushland with a bath!!.. We lucked in with this cutey! Old world charm in a peaceful valley: open fire, crisp sheets and a must read gourmet traveller-spanish edition set the scene for relaxing respite from the rigours of tasting the penfolds grange hermitage and the degustation at apelation! Bon apetite and... More

We went there last weekend and it is a beautiful spot. Lovely views and a quaint cottage. Good breakfast provisions too and they even turned on the bread makers for us - how lovely to have freshly baked bread in the morning! The toilet is a step outside of the room - we didn't mind it terribly though. The kitchen... More

It is a lovely cottage but does need lot of TLC - there is a difference between "old rustic charm" and "letting things go". The Bathroom was not very clean and also in general the outside area needs a good clean and removal of the old cane chairs outside - not very inviting. The area itself is delightful - but... More

Wow! What an amazing little find and well kept secret the Miners Cottage is! This was our first trip to the Barossa as the parents were over from the UK. What a fabulous weekend away - we left our buzzing, busy lives in Sydney and had a relaxing couple of days in the Barossa. Rebecca was the perfect host -... More

This is the first review for Rebecca and Nick since taking over the property. We visited for a long weekend with two other couples for a group getaway to the Barossa, and it was a fantastic trip. The perfect location to unwind with good friends and great Barossa wine. Rebecca met us upon our arrival and showed us around the... More

The fire was blazing when I arrived, a fresh baked loaf of bread, a large bowl of sausages/bacon/tomatoes, fresh eggs, a good selection of of jams, lollies, tasty port, chocolates, what more do you need? After returning from the Barossa on the second afternoon, the fire had been lit and was blazing once again to warm us up on arrival.... More

If you want to stay somewhere where you can leave the world behind and just....unwind, then this is the place to stay. We enjoyed everything that was on offer and explored parts of the Barossa we hadn't been to which was fun....and to see a kangaroo hop past whilst in the bathroom was a first! You simply must stay here!!

How can one improve on the "Best of the Best". We stayed 2 nights celebrating our 40th Wedding Anniversary and had the most amazing holiday experience ever. What with a fully stocked fridge and blazing log fire on arrival, a very comfortable bed and breakfast with friendly chickens out on the back verandah overlooking the little creek and amazing greenery,... Absolutely lovely getaway in the Barossa. Completely leave everything behind in the middle of winter for roaring fires, romantic isolation, hot baths and delicious local food. This is not for the pampered 'four seasons' traveller but for those who want lovely rural romantic seclusion. Godfrey is the consummate discreet host and gives perfect Barossa advice for food/wine indulgence and local... More
