The owners were amazing. They welcomed us when we arrived around 9.30pm. Although the restaurant was closed they gave us a lovely bottle of Rioja and nibbles in the main lounge. We sat with these in leather sofas, listening to music surrounded by stone walls, beams and a great ambience. Definitely recommend for a few nights.

This is a wonderfully restored Palacio in a small village in Rioja region. The hosts are welcoming and the breakfast is outstanding. The rooms have been well and carefully restored, and the owner gave us a tour of his cellars, which were interesting. Our bedroom had an adjoining sitting room, and also had air-conditioning. The breakfast was outstanding. A machine... More

phenomenal greeting from the host and hostess. Brilliant room (11) with very comfortable ante room. good recommendations for where to go (somehow - no language whatsoever) The restaurant in adjacent property is closed, closed (you're not checking into a hotel with a restaurant; the near set is a few Ks away). but breakfast is great.

We loved the intimate setting, only 5 rooms and a comfortable living room and breakfast and bar area. Very attentive, friendly and helpful hosts...just like staying with friends in the country! Perfect for exploring Rioja wine country and historic and important churches and sites in the area. Wish we had stayed longer!

We arrived in the evening after having visited some great bodegas in the Rioja region and a wonderful drive through the wine fields to this hotel. It appeared we booked the "master" bedroom. And masterly it was. Amazing room, two persons jacuzzi, and after a good night of sleep a great breakfast. Easily meets the standards of 4/5 star hotel!!

In the middle of The Rioja region of Spain is a treasure that has yet to be discovered by many.. The tiny village of Zarraton is home to a real palace that has been brought back to life by Dione and Yolanda, the owners! Our room consisted of a spacious bedroom and a separate sitting room decorated with exquisite taste.... More

What a wonderfully refurbished old Palace where the owners are the most helpful hosts. The Palacio is a great place to stay when in the Rioja region. Far enough out of Haro to be peaceful and relaxing, but close enough to enjoy all the town has to offer. The building has been lovingly restored by the present owners who are... More
