We found the front desk staff to be amazingly friendly; they greeted us whenever we returned to the hotel. The breakfast staff was equally friendly - one even offered to make a waffle for our teenager who was stil sleeping. Several museums were within walking distance. Our key card allowed a discount at Buca di beppo, which served massive quantities... more

The location is nice. On the Canal, in the city, but not right in the center of the busy part. The room was decent. We were given the wrong size bed but did not complain. A bit over priced, but I think the whole city was. The pool and hot tube were closed duting my stay which was the biggest... more

I have stayed at many Residence Inns and usually love the chain. This one is terrible. The hotel needs updating and a very deep cleaning. Or better yet they should tear it down and start over. Our room was very very dirty. At first I thought that they gave us the wrong room and maybe the one they gave us... more

My family stayed at the Residence Inn Downtown Indianapolis in July to attend Drum Corps events for several days. The hotel property is on the edge of downtown. It is close enough to walk just about everywhere - 6 blocks to the mall, 6 blocks to the Convention Center, 8 blocks to the new football stadium. Walking seemed safe enough,... more

Whenever I travel I try to stay in a Residence Inn, as it has never disappointed. However, I guess there is always a first. This is the first time I've ever stayed at a R.I. that was a studio room. One of the very reasons we prefer R.I. is because I usually wake up early and my husband is a... more

The area surround this hotel is absolutely gorgeous. However, the hotel itself pays virtually no homage to it. There is one common balcony on the main floor, but no seating. We had to drink coffee and eat in the lobby area. We might as well have been on the freeway in the suburbs. There is no seating on the canal... more

I am staying in Indy for the next 2 months and despite being a Silver member and getting the points, I am seriously considering checking out and heading to the Candlewood Suites. Problems: The "Canal" which is billed as so scenic is drained, so it is an icy muddy trench now. The smell of the hotel is mildly unpleasant, probably... more

My family of four stayed here for one night for a little getaway and had a great time. The hotel is typical of other Residence Inns in that it is set up suite style with a full kitchen, living area and separate bedroom. The bedroom did have a door but it isn't a typical door that closes all the way... more

Our family (including two teens), and two other families (with smaller children), met here as a central location to enjoy each other over the Christmas holiday. I was able to secure 3 rooms, on the same floor, near each other; so that we could interact, but still have our own space. We were on the city side. Note that the... more

Stayed here for 2 nights in a 2-bedroom suite on the first floor overlooking the canal. Tasha checked us in and was more than helpful. She was smiling all the time, very friendly ... somebody enjoying her work. The room was OK, not the most modern, but not very old either. Everything worked fine, space was fine. Plenty of towels,... more
