My husband and I had a fabulous weekend at The Harney House. We bundled up and walked all over downtown. Especially enjoyed the James Whitcomb Riley museum just across the alley. The room was perfect and Debbie surprised us with treats and cards for our Valentine's anniversary. The highlight of her full breakfast, served at whatever time we requested, was baked... More

Thank you so much for taking the time to write us a review! I'm so glad you enjoy your stay with us and hopefully you will get to come back when it is warmer so you can really enjoy walking around downtown, Mass Ave, the Canal, etc., at a slower pace:) Deb More

A wedding drew us to Indianapolis, Debra welcomed us into this beautiful, historic home that was from her family's legacy. Attention to detail in restoring the home's grandeur has not been overlooked. Our room had a sitting room to relax and the king size bed was comfortable with a whirlpool tub for two in the room, along with a coffee... More

I stayed here 10/22 and 10/23 2014. I had made reservations for 10/21 through 10/25 and though I had to cancel the first night and called to cancel as soon as I could 10/21 when it was raining so hard I could not drive and could not make it to Indianapolis that night I had to pay for the full... All of the reviews below this one are 100% true. I just want to warn you that everything you're about to read has been mentioned many times before. Beware. I arrived at the Harney House 3 hours after the check-in time - at 9:30. I was in contact with Deb and she assured me that a later check-in time was... More

Harney House was a great find! Cleaner than just about any hotel I have ever stayed in. We were in the Garden room for 4 nights. Deb was a great host. Came out every morning at breakfast to see if we needed anything. She also set muffins and toast out for our 4AM departure on our last morning. A block... More

We were in town for a conference (our fifth so far this year) and we try to stay in B&Bs whenever possible. Deb was friendly, accommodating and an excellent cook. Her sausage gravy and biscuits rival any I have ever had. I was amazed at the work she and her deceased husband did to save this house and turn it... More

We arrived very late (11pm) on a Thursday evening via taxi. One ring on the front (locked) door and we were met be the owner/proprietor Debra Harney. Small talk was very pleasant as she showed us our way to the third floor penthouse. The room is large with a queen bed, separate living room and full kitchen (range, oven, refrigerator.... More

What a nice spot! Deb was a very nice host, and her granddaughter was adorable. Beautiful home that had been "raised from the dead" in the early 80's and it is terrific. Bed was very comfortable, bath was great, beautiful woodwork. Excellent full breakfast with eggs, bacon, awesome scones, muffins, fruit, coffee and juice. All the way around, outstanding!! We... The owner, Deb, was attentive and pleasant. Breakfast was delicious and plentiful. The room was unbelievably quaint, comfortable, quiet and spacious. The location was perfect, walking distance to everything. There's a supermarket a block away and a main street full of restaurants just two blocks away. Skip the hotel and stay here.

We stayed a Saturday night in April and was extremely satisfied with our experience. Deb is an outstanding host and everything exceeded our expectations.
