Yes, the property is older. Yes, it could be updated. BUT, if you're coming up to head to Chicago? You really can't beat the location or price of this hotel. We've stayed there 5 times, now. It is just off the Toll Road and 4 minutes away from the South Shore Station. Our room was super clean, safe, quiet and... More

The pool is nice and warm which was nice, it's a little out dated. The room was big though and for a night stAys it was fine. It was easy to get too as we'll. I was a little unsure due to the recent reviews but I used my own judgement

I stayed here with my dad while he was playing in a poker tournament at the local Horseshoe casino, and the only option in the area was the Magnuson Hotel. It's literally one of the most disgusting towns/parking lots/hotels/buildings in general I've ever seen in my life. Depending on the strength of the wind the parking lot alternates between smelling... More

I spent 4 hour here, just to sleep before a long drive. The room had a Jacuzzi, which was out of order. They didn't charge me for the Jacuzzi, nor did I ask for it. But to have non-working things like this in the room, is unprofessional. Clean, but in need of remodeling and updating. It's not expensive, but it's... More

I have stayed at this property in the past when it was under different names. I wanted to stay here again due to its proximity to Chicago and its very large truck-parking lot. I had a travel coupon for the place, but they were running a special that was better than the coupon and my total bill came to $55.... More

I'm currently visiting relatives in Hammond and Calumet City for Thanksgiving and needed a safe, clean, and comfortable room for me and my rat terrier without breaking the bank. I originally booked a room at the Motel 6 (formally Super 8) in Lansing that I booked for an average $45 per night, but the place was a horrific dump. My... More

We stopped here unplanned and did not check Tripadvisor first. We were tired and desperate, and the hotel looked okay from the road. Even the front desk area looked okay. But then we went to the elevator and then to the second floor. Reeking of cigarette smoke, dirty carpet, words scrawled on doors, dirty disoriented man walking down the hall.... More

We happened into this hotel due to weather on the way to Chicago. Arrived with no reservations and took what we could get in the room. It is an older hotel, and it is in need of updating and 'sprucing' up. It was reasonably priced for what you get, but I wouldn't call it a value. Given a choice I... More

When we arrived, the front desk person was courteous, but we interrupted her getting her nails polished by some guy. On the way to our room, we noticed the hallway was very dirty. This wasn't just old carpeting, it was filthy. We'd driven a lot of hours, and needed to get some sleep, or we'd have gone to another place.... More

Misleading advertising for this hotel (does not live up to expectations of advertising). Old style (1950/60) accommodation which by today’s standards is closer to a backpacker hotel. Poor maintenance standard – many items not functioning properly (if at all). Poor facilities – very used and dated. Staff only partially helpful or polite. Could NOT recommend at all.
