First of all I will say they have excellent customer service. The check in was speedy and efficient. The cons were that the side doors didn't work with key access. Also, there was rust over the bathroom doors. They could do with an upgrade of furniture since we had a table with only one chair. There were cobwebs in the... More

The Majestic Star Hotel will clearly not win any awards for it's tremendous facilities nor service, but the property met my basic needs of cleanliness and safety. I read other reviews ripping into the facility for being dirty and had some concerns before arriving. However, the hotel and the rooms were reasonably clean and had everything in working order. To give out something is one thing, but to give out something of value is another. I do not think your guest expect the world from the majestic, but asking for clean and working items in each room is a must. The casino is extremely smoky. The 5 dollar buffet need a huge change.the payout use to be pretty good under... More

Hotel is dirty. Bathroom had hair all over the sides of the tub. We had a package and drove a long way and they tried to give us a $5 buffet in place of a $100 dinner. They didn't even have a small refrigerator in the room which I thought was odd for a casino hotel. Even the smaller motels... More

Once again I had mailed to me free night stays here, so I gave in and tried it. First at checkin, they didnt even ask me for ID just the reservation name and no deposit. That tells you how careful they are for w ho stays t here. The room is awful, very old, smelly and stains everywhere. I went... More

Decided to up and drive 4 1/2 hrs from detroit to indy to try out their casinos. Paying $60 for a room at a casino had me a little worried but it is what it is, a $60 room. Got one king bed in a non-smoking room, requested more pillows which were immediately delivered. Room was clean and acceptable. Coffee... More

Just got back from staying two nights at Majestic Star. I'm not going to complain because both nights were comped. However if you are paying you might want to think twice. Hotel is very old and outdated. I will say that the few staff members I dealt with were friendly. Casino has seemed to really tighten up since they filed... More

This is a review of the hotel. The casino is fine, but I would prefer to rate it separately. So, the hotel room was clean. I would feel safe sleeping here again, both physically (from scary Gary types) and safe from diseases lurking underneath the sheets. The price point was also reasonable, considering the lake view and proximity to Chicago.... More

Bad economy, not enough guests equals no money to upgrade or maintain. I taught a seminar here. The good: the front desk staff could not have been more helpful. And I did need help, room and catering changes, last minute issues. Karla was the person who helped me and she was equal to any Marriott staffer I have worked with.... More

I had a good time at the Majestic Hotel. on several occasions. The roooms I had were clean, and I had a good view of the lake. On Several occasions (when I Stayed two days or more), I got a chance to meet the room attendant. She was curtious, she also got on my nerve though continually asking me if... More
