We stayed just one night at this beautiful place. The view is stunning from the top but it's quite scary to reach it. The road is not too wide and there are probably 6km climbing the mountain before reaching the top. It's a perfect place for hiking, food is abundant and good value for money. You won't have a fancy... More

Although expectations were high, we never got the chance of seeing the magnificent view as mentioned by several travellers. The way up to the hotel is very difficult and at certain points even dangerous as far as we are concerned, After several turns (of which the road has a lot) a problem with the clutch of our car occurred. However,... More

We expected so much and got so little! The location is some 5 kilometres up Monterosso mountain. The road is not easy, quite tiring and scary at night but the setting up there is beautiful. BUT the breakfast and service leaves much to be desired. The breakfast was the worst I ever had! We stayed for 6 nights, during the... More

Two Israeli families with children ages 4-12. We found Il Monterosso charming and magical, on top of a hill (try to get there for the first time at day light). The rooms are very small, and with children, families actually need two rooms. There's no air-condition, but if you have a window (not all rooms do, however), that suffices in... More

This place is not easy to get to. It takes quite some driving experience because the road is turny and narrow. But when you get on the top of the mountain, you can fully relax. The food is superb , the rooms are very clean and the price is very reasonable. Like said, after a glass of wine, you better... More

We have been here already twice in May 2008 and May 2009. We use it was one of many pitstops when driving from Netherlands to Italy. The place in on the top of the hill, with a very tight and turning off-the-map street to get there, but once reached the top the relax is ensured and the view (above all... More

This perfect farmhouse is owned by a nice couple that welcomes you no matter where you come from - Giorgio and Iside are full of warmth and comfort and are very, very friendly. They will make sure that you have everything you need and want. The place itself has a great country-living charm with horses, cows, pigs, goats, chickens and... More

All over Italy there are Agríturismos which offer food and in some case lodgings on farms. This was the first one that we stayed at and it was wonderful. In this case the hotel/restaurant has become the driving economical factor of the property, but they keep some horses for riding and some cows and pigs which end up in various... More

This was a nice place to stay, and I’d recommend it to people; however you are roughly 20 minutes removed from Verbania (by car). This hotel is perched high above the surrounding Lake Maggiore area, which allows from some spectacular views, but it may take a little bit of courage to get there. The approach road is one lane wide,... More
