It was our first time visiting Michigan city and had no idea what to expect. This place is like a home away from home. I loved it, hubby loved it and the kids loved it. It was a wonderful trip and would definitely come back!

“Rockin' Reunion weekend” at DunesWalk Inn! 5 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 weeks ago We traveled from the East Coast to attend my Wirt High School "Rockin' Reunion" and stayed at the charmingly restored Dunes Walk Inn. This historic property was one very familiar to our family, as we visited the nearby Furnessville cemetery and Little Red School House, now... More

This late 1800 brick mansion was totally gutted and rebuilt from inside out - immaculately clean, immaculately rebuilt, lovely contemporary decor and color scheme in walls, bathroom tiles and common areas. Artwork is Indiana Dunes prints or memorabilia. You are given a key code to get into building and room, so no innkeepers, no breakfast, just brochures and maps at... More

Our family rented the entire mansion for the 4th of July weekend. We enjoyed the fact that we had the entire place to ourselves. The grounds around the mansion were great for us to move around on. The rooms were roomy and comfortable. We were 17 people altogether and had plenty of space. The hotel is close to the beach... More

Lovely old mansion converted into a 5-room hotel, located right on a busy 4-lane highway. The train runs at all hours on the other side of the highway. Lovely furnishings, nice library with books on the dunes and local birds. We stayed for two sleep-deprived nights on a bed with a footboard, making it too short for tall people; the... More

We chose this restored/renovated mansion to experience the area near the Indiana Dunes and to support a local business. We stayed in the Porter Queen room, and were surprised and delighted to find that the renovation included the amenites that we enjoy in a conventional hotel: flat screen TV, individual climate control, WiFi, plenty of electrical outlets, coffeemaker, coffee, and... We drove from Chicago and stayed one night. We stayed in the Furness Suite which is beautifully done, modern lines, spacious. It was very relaxing and uplifting just to be in the space. The kitchenette is well-equipped. There is a deck overlooking a deep lawn. Although the dunes looked reasonably close on the map, in reality it is a short... More

Looking for someplace to celebrate a family birthday which was close to Chicago but way out of the bustle, this was the perfect solution. We rented the two suites and there was plenty of room. In my younger days, I've lived in plenty of apartments smaller than our suites. We were close to the beaches and great restaurants but felt... More

Looking for something different than a hotel room, we stumbled across the DunesWalk Inn. Once a former mansion, now converted to separate lodging quarters, the DunesWalk Inn provides a great alternative to your standard hotel room. The room we had was clean, modern, and very spacious with a king sized bed and roomy bathroom. There was also a small "kitchenette"... More

It was very late in the season when I stayed here and I was the only occupant. I was given an entry code and directions to my room, which was über cool. There's a kitchen - w microwave & fridge - a nice bathroom and the bed was super comfortable. I had a look around and borrowed a magazine from... More
