Although we found an extremely interesting offer for a week-end (<50Euros total), and our room overlooked (by side) the sea, I wouldn't recommend this hotel because the room was really smelly (probably the carpets and the counterpanes are too old!) and didn't provide us an overall sense of a clean room.

The Hotel Avra is situated just off the main route into Athens and Piraeus, close to 'bus stops and the efficient tram system. The bedrooms are small and basic. Beds are comfortable and clean towels are provided daily. We were there for 8 nights and the bedding was changed several times. Free air conditioning and a fridge are provided. Apart... More

This hotel was about 45 min by tram from the city, but very close to the tram station, making it accessible. We got a nice cosy room with a small balcony, and the bathroom was nice, spacious in our opinion, and clean. We took a while to get used to the aircon controls but finally figured it out. The breakfast... More

Some of our wedding guests stayed at this small hotel, and loved it. The staff members were very accommodating and the service was excellent. Located in a suburb of Athens, it is easy to get everywhere: by bus, tram or taxi in 15 minutes to central Athens, 10 minutes walk to the water and the airport bus, 45 minutes to... More

Stayed at the Avra hotel on a business trip to Athens. At 50 Euros a night its not expensive, but its absolutely a horrible hotel. The rooms are tiny and beds are so small that you have to sleep in the pike position to stay in the bed. In addition, the beds are very hard and uncomfortable. The TV is... More

Hotel Avra is one block from the beach front. It is a small but neat hotel with clean, comfortable rooms. The reception staff are friendly and were able to assist when I needed a pharmacy urgently. The breakfast is an adequate continental. Parking can be a problem if you are there by vehicle. It made a good stop-over from Cape... More

This hotel was recommended by my mother. It's a small hotel that offered great value for money. We paid 55 euros for a room for two. It's location is central in Athens as it's in between central Athens (6 euros by cab to Syntagma) and the nice beaches in Glyfada, Voula etc... It's perfect location opposite a tram station makes... Great little hotel on the Athens Riviera, small but clean rooms, and power shower. A little damp smell in the room but hey at this price what the heck. A/C worked well as did the TV. Great friendly staff with good English very helpful.Breakfast simple but tasty. Mixed guests older and young students at our stay. Good place if waiting... More
