Just checked in, parents weekend and we booked this week for the IU Iowa game, so slim pickings and this was only hotel available....smells 'old' when you walk in lobby. Room has peeling paint on walls, lighting is poor and no outlets except near tv to charge anything. Sheets have small holes in them. Pillows very small on beds Our... More

The carpet looked like it had never been cleaned, with large grungy spill marks; there was mold/mildew in the shower and grout. There were splatters of stuff of the walls never wiped off. Elevator barely works. This is worse than a 1 rating hotel.

I had to stay here for two days for IU orientation. We forgot to get a hotel and we had to stay here. I knew it was bad when the toilet paper was hanging from the wrong side, but first I will talk about the good things, the sheets smelled clean, they had a mini fridge. That's almost where it... I am sorry that you did not enjoy your stay. I'm not certain what is meant by the toilet paper hanging from the wrong side, but we will try to look into that. We are currently working on remodeling all of the rooms. All of the orange and yellow painting in the rooms is being changed to a white color... More

I was looking for a quiet place to stay to handle a few work conference calls that was easy on the wallet. This was a last minute decision to stay here but felt comfortable walking in. I will not speak of the interior due to what overshadowed the other small issues. Upon check in, I requested a late check out... More

I just finished reading your review, and I completely apologize for the unprofessional manner that this happened. I would like to look into this matter and determine who you spoke with. If you could email us back with details of the person that checked you in. That is unheard of here at Bloomington Indiana Americas Best Value Inn. We have... More

This is the most disgusting place I've ever been. Filth everywhere. Doors kicked and punched in, pubic hair in the mattress pad, stains all over the pillows, blood wiped on the walls. My son was asked in the parking lot if he was "looking for a date" by a pregnant girl named Megan. There were coins and a nail holding... More

I'm sorry that you didn't enjoy your stay at Americas Best Value Inn Bloomington Indiana. Unfortunately we can not control all the people that are outside, but if we are notified of something like that happening, we would have called the police to have that taken care of with the woman in the parking lot. We do not tolerate any... More

Customers were all coming out into the hall saying they couldn't believe how bad this place was and headed out to buy sheets. My pillow case had brown, blood type stains. Said no smoking but it reeked and my suitcase and belonging all smelled like smoke even after I moved to another hotel. My son caught a cold type virus... More

We apologize if you did not enjoy your stay, we are working on remodeling at this time, but it is slow going. Unfortunately we are not responsible for your son catching the common cold. I chose the room based on the rate. Considered a slightly more expensive place nearby based on reviews, but I'll give just about any place a chance. First room we were given wasn't totally clean, in my opinion. I told front desk and they promptly apologized and got us into a different room. It was clean, had a comfortable bed... More

It was pretty cheap, which is why we picked it. But the whole place felt run down. Parts of the counter in the bathroom has peeled off, you could see tons of rust. Both times they brought us towels they were stained/dirty. The staff overall was very friendly though.

Thank you for your review, we are currently working on remodeling the hotel to improve the rooms. I apologize for the state of the hotel, but the building is over 30 years old, and we are always working slowly towards improving. As for the towels, we are working a new method to make sure there are no longer stained. We... More
