My daughter just graduated IU last weekend. Like many of you, I use to spend hours trolling the websites for suitable lodging during our frequent visits from Chicago. The Union, Grant Street B&B were always in pursuit but never available nor reasonable as the IU Hotel conglomerates have figured out a way to squeeze vacation resort room pricing from us... More

If you are a Marriott or Other chain hotel patron, you will not be happy here. A lot of things are nice about This motel. Clean, secure, several updates, very comfortable beds, CLEAN BEDS, microwave & mini fridge..but, the smell of smoke will ruin your night. Seriously, this is probably the place where every smoker stays bc they'll be charged... More

We needed to stay overnight and selected this inn based on the other recommendations we read. We were not disappointed. This is a 1950's era hotel that has the basic necessities, has been updated, is sparkling clean, and boasts the most personable desk clerk we've the pleasure of meeting. We had a king room, the bed slept great. Very quiet... More

This is a 1950's building that has been painted, cleaned and furnished in cheap motel modern. Room was small with two double beds that were very comfortable. CLEAN! This is a modestly priced motel with spacious shower, refrigerator, microwave and tv. Four of us slept here for 50 dollars. Close to We Willies for our favorite breakfast forgot our Kindle... More

We stayed here in an older room with wood paneling. Regardless, it was clean and safe. The hotel manager was extremely personable and helpful. Additionally, it is not in the middle of the busy part of town so it is easy to exit and enter.

My wife and I stayed here when in town for New Years. The hotel manager was super friendly and helpful, making conversation about our trip over and our plans while in town. The room is dated, but very clean. The price and cleanliness make this hotel's value unbeatable. If you are looking for a room which would typically run $90-100... More

My daughter goes to IU and I have been coming to Bloomington off and on now for two years. The hotels near the IU campus all charge really high rates, taking advantage of the situation. However, if you are willing to drive just 5 minutes south of downtown Bloomington on Walnut street you will find the Economy Inn. I will... More

Stayed at this motel for an event at IU. The staff was very attentive and helpful. They answered any questions I had and made sure that I felt comfortable and at home. The hospitality that they provided made my trip ten times better than expected. The value of this hotel is unbeatable and I definitely recommend it.

I stayed here with my daughter during our visit to IU. I booked the room with 2 queen beds for 3 nights. The room, beds, bath and toilet were clean - got new towels every day. This is not a fancy hotel with great amenities, but for the price this place is excellent. I made by booking by calling the... More

Real feeling of dread when the address matched my reservation receipt. This place looks like the setting for some teen-slasher flick. Room was dark and musty with furnishings straight from the late 70's. "Paneled" wall had patches of extra paneling covering what I presumed were holes. Bathroom ceiling had dead bugs on it. Only stayed because we were too tired... More
