Some issues could be related to an abrupt change in management while we were there--but generally this experience was not up to the level of other, much less expensive Relais & Chateau wilderness resorts in Chile we visited during the past year. The tents were nice but nothing to get excited about (though I did love the outdoor shower), the... More

Dear Christine, thank you very much for taking the time to write about your visit to Clayoquot Wilderness Resort last season. Although I am always saddened when any client had less than a magnificent stay with us, your reflections and opinions are vital in our efforts to continually improve the overall guest experience. Allow me, on behalf of the new... More

This was my second visit to Clayoquot. The first was 6 years ago. It is nothing like I remember. The staff was tired and irritable (there were exceptions which I will mention). The new management seemed confused and unresponsive. We were told that they had fired the previous managers and blamed them for the fact that things were running so... More

Dear Mariedory23, thank you so much for expressing your opinion about your recent stay at Clayoquot Wilderness Resort. I am always grateful to receive heartfelt opinions that can only help us improve the customer experience. Of course, operational considerations are not an excuse for a less than satisfactory stay and quite frankly some of our recent guests have been unfairly... More

Absolutely wonderful service. We were blessed with good weather, but chatting to guests who had been before (I'm really jealous!) bad weather just means different activities, and possibly more time hanging round the cookhouse and eating the delicious food. It is very expensive but try to go for seven days rather than anything shorter and you won't be left regretting... More

First off the place is land is beautiful. I read some of the other comments about summer camp but this is more like the summer retreat and think the Dirty Dancing camp. It is all inclusive which is good but in our case was not worth it. I feel this place is very pricey, but maybe I am just not... More

Dear Russell J, I am so deeply grateful that you took the time to comment about your recent trip to our resort and I am sorry that the weather and the lack of rain appropriate activities lessened your enjoyment of our wonderful region. There were many positive elements to your constructive criticism and I thank you for your kudos to... More

Without question, this was the most incredible travel experience of our lives. While it was probably also the most expensive, it was undoubtedly the best value for money. As soon as we arrived, we regretted the fact that we were only staying three nights. Everything about Clayoquot is breathtaking. From the scenery and wildlife, to the rooms and facilities. The... We travelled to Clayoquot, as a family, at the end of an awesome trip through Alberta and BC. I was slightly nervous that CWR couldn't live up to my hope of topping off such a great holiday. Every minute there was a joy for all of us (helped by meeting some truly lovely guests and the great atmosphere created by... More

We just came back from a week at Clayoquot. We loved absolutely every minute of this exceptional vacation: - Activities: from wild life watching to mountain biking, horse riding, deep-sea fishing, hiking to the suspended bridge or the gold mine, climbing, zip-lining, water-skiing, kayaking or simply enjoying the view in the hot tub, there are plenty to chose from. Activities... More

Just got back from 4 nights celebrating our 30th wedding anniversary. First let me admit we are basically locals. Born and brought up in BC. Spend lots of time outdoors. Active. Been to Tofino and Uke lots before etc. Our two primary concerns were 1)travelling as a couple would we feel like we were stuck on someone else's family vacation?... More

Just back from a stay at Clayoquot Wilderness Resort and it was an experience that I will never forget, for all good reasons. The activities are very varied and there is something for everyone. We just wanted to hike, and this was no problem, we were given different routes and a knowledgeable guide for each walk. The food was as... More

This is our second visit to Clayoquot. We had an even better (but without the unique "first-time" feeling) experience than two years ago. The staff is amazing, the location breathtaking and the food glorious. We did a helicopter drop off on top of a nearby mountain, had a picnic next to a beautiful lake and hiked for a while before...
