It's hard to believe this secluded Victorian farmhouse is 43 miles from Chicago. We are a family of four -- 2 children 12 and 6 -- who like to bicycle. This place is just a mile and a half from the millenium bike trail in Lake Country. Yesterday, we cycled here from Northfield and were met by the gracious hosts in Mundelein as it was getting dark. Sherry and Archie graciously volunteered to pick us up there! When we arrived at their b&b it was about 9:30. They showed us to a large spacious double room suite fit for Louis XIV complete with a gigantic jacuzzi. But everything else in the room was Victorian period down to the golden sheets we slept in! Our host and hostess bid us good night, but not before directing us to a family video collection. We selected a Disney movie which we watched in two installments.
