This motel stay is proof of the old saying "you get what you pay for". I was driving late and looking for a bed for the night and found a vacancy here and for only $ 50. The lady at the desk was very polite and the room seemed clean although the motel is very old. I almost couldn't sleep... More

Not my normal place to stay, but I would definitely stay again. Independent owner - father & son - keep this place very clean. Rooms were nice and big. Beds comfy. Refrig and microwave are in room. The gentlemen that checked is in was very nice and hospitable. Recommended place across the street for breakfast.

Two story hotel/motel seems to be a semi newer build. Independent ownership, but seems more like the chains than the old style independent places. They seem very attentive to details. Can't find anything wrong with the place. The owner was nice. The doors open up to the outside. Good sized rooms. Nothing super special, but it is all you need.... More

Very clean rooms. Not fancy if you want that. But had a microwave, refrigerator, wifi (that worked) They didn't charge extra for the two dogs and gave me a room kinda a way from the others so the dogs were comfortable too. No steps for my 15 year old with hip problems. Walk right out the room, no hallways and... More

Jay's is just off I-70 in Vandalia and makes a very convenient and inexpensive motel option when traveling between St. Louis and points East. I have stayed there twice over a period of more than 10 years and both times felt that I received good value. No restaurant on site anymore, but an excellent breakfast place just across the highway... More

Easy access from exit 63 on Route 70. Friendly staff, very clean, microwave, and mini-fridge. Was within walking distance of fast food such as Wendy's. Close to gas station. Great value! I recommend Jay's Inn.

We were looking for a clean, comfortable room for a reasonable price and we found it here. The staff was very accommodating and the room was just what we wanted - clean and comfortable beds, clean bathroom, convenient location and good value. No frills but that is not what we needed for a one night stay. We were very pleased... More

We had planned on traveling to Effingham before we stopped, but my husband got sick, so I pulled into Jay's Inn parking lot to see if anything was available. Happily, there was. The room had a king size bed, a double recliner couch, a microwave, a refrigerator, coffee, and a flat screen TV. Plus, there was a table and two... More

What a pleasant surprise. A large clean room, comfortable bed, a microwave, a refrigerator, a coffeemaker, WIFI and a sofa, all for less than $50.00. I would recommend this to anyone who is traveling in the area. Plenty of parking and several restaurants nearby.

On our road trip back from Missouri we ended up staying at Jay's Inn! Didn't look like much from the outside, but appearances can be deceiving. For less than $50/night (tax included) I had a large room with a queen size bed, large leather sofa and a good sized tv. There was also a fridge, microwave and coffee maker (including... More
