Our entire family (9 members) stayed together at Sylvia's Irish Inn for our son's graduation from the University of Illinois. Our stay was perfect! Sylvia and Ernie went above and beyond to make sure every member of our family enjoyed their time at the house. Comfortable, clean rooms and bathrooms. Delicious and plentiful breakfasts. Checking in with us often to... More

We stayed three nights over Mom's Weekend at University of Illinois (April 10-12, 2015), the rooms were clean, the home, furnishing and decorations decidedly Victorian, and the Breakfast service impeccable. Sylvia made a special Vegan breakfast for the hubby, and the "regular", quiche, muffins, fruit, coffee, juice and the various other assorted breakfast items were first rate. Sylvia runs a... More

We just spent the weekend at U of I with our daughter but Sylvia and Ernie helped make the weekend extra special. Sylvia's Irish Inn is beautiful, full of charm and character from the minute you arrive. The house and furnishings make you feel like you've gone back in time to another era, all tastefully & wonderfully decorated. We stayed... More

Sylvia’s is a B & B and the B for Breakfast is fantastic. Sylvia cooks a different breakfast every day, and they’re all good. One dish (I lost my notes) was something I had never seen or heard of, and it was like elegant cooking. It’s too bad you can’t simply sign up for breakfast. Upstairs there are about four... More

My husband and I decided to book a room at the Inn while we were working at the Research Park for a week last summer. Our stay was great! The house is sweetly decorated, our room was very comfy, and Sylvia's breakfasts were both elegant and delicious. Really loved the menu - each of her recipes has a special touch,... More

This building on a tree-lined side street near downtown Urbana immediately draws attention with the beauty of its facade. Its covered front porch makes a peaceful place to sit and read or contemplate. I stayed in the third-floor room. It's vast, with a sitting area, a kitchenette, and a perfectly appointed bathroom. There's lots of water pressure despite the top-floor... More

I had a last minute stay in Urbana for which I wanted an affordable stay. Sylvia's Irish Inn met that minimum requirement but provided so much more. Sylvia and Ernie are wonderful people who run this historic and beautiful building as a labor of love. Top notch made-to-order baked egg breakfast with fresh fruit cup. A wonderful back patio with... We travel the B1G and stay in B&B's whenever we can. Our week-end at Sylvia's Irish Inn was terrific. We were in the Red Room. It is large, well lit, and has a fabulous bed. It is also very quiet. We had an excellent night's sleep both nights. The price for our stay was extremely reasonable. The breakfasts were huge... More

We stayed a couple of nights while going to the Elnora Guitar Festival.. Sylvia and Ernie are quite a couple. They balance each other nicely! The house was very clean and interesting. So much to look at. There is a beautiful front porch and wonderful privacy garden with tables and a fire pit in the back. I had the feeling... More
