Instead of getting each other Christmas presents this year, my boyfriend and I decided to take a small trip. We found Kishauwau because of its' awesome reviews on Trip Advisor. We stayed in the Zonta cabin over MLK weekend with our two dogs. The cabin was so cute and cozy! We were close enough to the main cabin that we... More

Feel the cares and noise of the world melt away as you relax in front of a roaring fire, crunch through leaves of the forest, and soak in the hot tub. We have been coming back to Kishauwau since 2002. Ben and Ellen King, the original owners, were the most welcoming, hospitable hosts we have ever met in our travels.... More

Thank you so much for the kind words. Yes, Ben & Ellen were the best, and what a legacy they left behind. We love staying at Kishauwau! The cabins and grounds are very well maintained. The family who owns and runs the property is friendly and quick to help you with your needs. We have visited a handful of times over the past few years and have never been disappointed. We also appreciate how close it is to Starved Rock and other... More

My girlfriend and I stayed in the Bridge. What an awesome, cute cabin. The owners are so kind and very concerned about everyone's privacy. The cabin is comfortable, equipped with the essentials; the backyard has plenty of space with fire pits (2) and charcoal grill. Beautiful surroundings, so close to all four state parks. We have booked to return in... More

The entire experience was great from the moment we pulled up to the office. We were greeted by Terisa who confirmed our stay and asked questions about our plans and gave suggestions for places to visit, things to do and great places to eat. My wife and I stayed in the Wilderness cabin. It was very comfortable. We loved having... More

If you want more than a hotel room but don't want to pay $300+ per night for a resort, this is a good option for you. My husband and I decided to rent a cabin here for two nights to celebrate our first wedding anniversary. We wanted a getaway that didn't cost a small fortune. Kishauwau Country Cabins are located... My husband and I stayed in the Americana cabin for three nights over Labor Day weekend. Our plan was to hike during the day and relax in the afternoon and evening. We planned ahead and read the information of what was included with the cabin and what was not. We brought a cooler of food and cooked all meals there.... More

My boyfriend and I just stayed this past weekend and we would highly recommend this place to anyone who is looking to unplug from the world and relax. The cabin was clean, well appointed and even allowed dogs (small fee did apply). We have already started looking at future dates. I just wish the larger cabin's allowed dogs.

This was for a family reunion of about 40 people. If you're still working or stressed about anything, this IS the place to go. The cabins are far apart and it's like you have your own yard. A porch swing and grill make up the front porch and then when you enter the cabin, it's more than we expected. EVERYTHING... More

Kelli, We thank you for taking the time to write a review and for the constructive criticism. All of the kind words you said about our property are greatly appreciated. Being that our cabins are so highly shaded we do have issues with some molding on the doors which are terribly hard to keep up on, and believe it or... More
