Stayed 3 nights recently. Nice room, very good food but something is lacking. Waiting staff were excellent but owners didn't make any effort to converse with their clients. I found that very strange. Not even as we were leaving!!!! Shower was very poor as was attitude of breakfast cook after we waited unsuccessfully for breakfast one morning. When he eventually... More

Pretty, well-run unpretentious country pub. Excellent food and professional attitude at all levels but warm and friendly service, too. Set in small well cared for Oxfordshire village with easy access by car to Reading and Henley on Thames (Oxford slightly further). Plenty of parking, busy bar but not noisy. Garden area.

We stayed in the Champagne Room, which I believe is the best room. Recently refurbished, lovely big bed and fab shower. Good breakfast. Pub is set in a small village in pretty area. Staff friendly and efficient. Booked online.

I stayed for one night in a standard double bed room. It's very pretty and nicely decorated, beds are comfy and breakfast was lovely. Bathrooms are modern and nice. I would defiantly stay again. The pub it's located in seems friendly and wasn't too noisy.

Clean, fresh linen. Clean bathroom but quite a small room. It didn't bother us too much because we arrived in late in the evening and were up and gone after breakfast. Breakfast was good - food hot and freshly cooked.

stayed here with work, the rooms are lovely, well finished and have charm. The pub food is great and the staff excellent. The lady Dora, was really friendly and gave excellent service. Highly recommended. As a place to stay in the country, with nice food, mountain really cannot go wrong. It's less than the price of a night in a chain... More

Food good but it is always disappointing when you are expected to pay extra for vegetables. It then makes the main course too expensive. After all how much does a carrot or a bean cost!! Apart from that it was fine. Being local we would go again with friends on a more special occasion, but probably not when it is... More

Visited in the evening. The pub was busy but we where seated quickly for dinner. Food was excellent well cooked and fresh. I had soup to start which was lovely could do with more bread and the roast chicken for main was perfectly cooked and the mushroom sauce was amazing. The service was great the lady couldn't have done more... More

I was working in the local area and my partner had joined me for dinner. The restaurant was half full, but the waitress was on her own and running about a lot. That said, you couldn't fault her attentiveness and conscientiousness. The food was really nice and well presented. I had sardines to start followed by a gilt head bream... More

The rooms are nice and quirky, but are let down by poor maintenance. Light in the bathroom wasn't bright enough, due to the fact that the downlighter was full of dead flies! Breakfast was ok, but nothing special.
