This was our 1st time here for a function. On arrival John could not have been more helpful, he is a real character, we stayed in room 17 in the converted part of the hotel. Quaint is how I would describe it. Very cosy. No hairdryer and the bath towels were no bigger than hand towels really but we enjoyed... More

Stayed for the first time a couple of weeks ago on business and have made future bookings. This hotel is set in lovely surroundings which is very unexpected as you approach from a retail park and industrial area. I stayed what I would describe as converted outbuildings from the main house which really have character and are a good size.... More

My husband and I stayed in this hotel last week. The hotel is full of character but there is a distinct lack of sufficient staff to run the hotel. We ate in the hotel on the first night and although the food was surprisingly good, the bar man had to serve behind the bar, man reception and act as a... More

Great position near to J12 of the M4. In private grounds but M4 noise apparent but not intrusive inside the hotel. Good check-in with helpful staff (Samantha) who actually took us to our room. How wonderfully old-fashioned! Room somewhat small and dated and we would not want to be in it during the winter as windows and door were thin.... More

I was so pleasantly surprised by this. i was expected a bog standard business type of hotel. It's a beautiful tudor building brimming with character. The gardens are lovely too. I had a single room which was very basic, no hairdryer but I managed - I got wi-fi in my room which I wasn't expecting as they had said it... More

The location is excellent as it is just a few minutes drive from the motorway & the location is very peaceful. However these are the only positive comments about this hotel. The rooms are very outdated & are not very clean. There was no hairdryer in my room & it took a long time to locate a spare one ((in... More

The building is beautiful. The staff were lovely. Everything else about this place was god awful. Dirty, uncomfortable, dated, noisy. Needs a huge amount of money spending on it to bring it anywhere near up to scratch. Actually quite sad.

Tucked away behind a Homebase and a bowling alley...is a nice little place. Very polite staff and very accomodating. I stayed in what looked like an old stable block. Super size room and bathroom ensuite though. Very quiet...just what I needed after the drive down from worcestershire.

I booked at the last minute and was concerned after reading the mixed reviews. I had no real worries at all. After being caught in traffic from an accident on the M4 and calling to say we were going to be late we still received a pleaseant welcome at 10.20 p.m. We stayed in the HENRY ROOM (1) the family... The hotel looks amazing when you first arrive. But that's as good as it gets. We checked in at 5pm. Had to walk across car park to our room (not a problem as the hotel grounds are lovely). The room was freezing. I would guess about 10c max. Heater took a few ours to warm the room up as only... More
