This was our first trip to Springfield and Doug and Rosalie made it very welcoming. The home is beautiful, the breakfast was great and they even accommodated food allergies, and it was fun learning about the house and the area.

Last Tuesday, my husband and I went to visit Springfield after his dental appointment. We chose to stay at the Flagg Farmstead B & B. It was a wonderful stay. Our hosts, Rosalie and Doug Polite were not only some of the most hospitable hosts we have encountered, for they have a rich knowledge of this historic area as well.... More

We stayed two nights. It was quiet and charming. Close to the Springfield and the Lincoln attractions. Doug and Rosalie Polite were helpful and delightful. The seafood restaurant in Springfield that they recommended was the best and I am from New England. It was a wonderful experience. I look forward to visiting again.

We really enjoyed staying at this beautifully restored 1871 mansion. Doug and Rosalie are very capable hosts who knew all about the area's historic sites. We will stay here again! The rooms are bright and comfortable, with full bathrooms in each one.

My wife and I came there for a very short getaway. We were super impressed by the house... very beautiful inside and out, with tasteful decorations and interesting touches, such as the cool staircase and the three-story chandelier. The owners, Doug and Rosalie Polite, were super nice and did their last name justice! We were greeted by Doug and their... More

We spent the weekend at the Flagg Farmstead. This really is a farm! It's rural, but close to everything. The setting is peaceful, and the home is very relaxing. My wife and I had lots of time to read and enjoy the fireplace! Breakfast is so delicious, and the coffee pot is available early! The rooms are wonderful and spacious.... More

How very comfortable we were in the five bedrooms, with private baths, all decorated in the style of the circa 1871 brick home which is The Flagg Farmstead Bed and Breakfast. Doug and Rosalie welcomed us and served delicious breakfasts! It was perfect for celebrating my birthday with my four sisters - now, all over eighty! It's a perfect location... More

We found our way back to The Flagg Farmstead for another lovely stay. Rosalie and Doug go out of their way to make sure that you are happy. This time we chose the Cornelius Flagg room, as the shower area is larger (Jacuzzi tub), because we are tall folks. Breakfast was good and so was the conversation. Such a friendly... More

This b and b, on the old coach road that Lincoln rode on, is relaxing and stimulating. Stimulating due to the historic nature of the building and nearby Springfield with so many places to learn of Lincoln. Relaxing because of the way one is treated. The hosts, Doug and Rosalie go out of their way to make one feel comfortable... More

We liked the country setting. The host Doug and Rosalie go out of there way to make you feel at home. Breakfast was really good both days we stayed there.Conversations around the breakfast table with the other guest was a delight.Would stay there again when we go back to Springfield.
