Awesome place. Nice friendly warm staff. Great food. Very relaxed. Stunning views. We wished we stayed here longer than the 3 days. But we'll worth every penny. Monica showed us where to go and eat shop sightsee. Gave us bus tram passes. Can't thank them enough for a wonderful stay. We will be back soon. Thank you.

The Inn on the Lake must be the most exquisite small guest house in Europe! Only a few minutes on buses that seem to run every three minutes into Central Station in Amsterdam, the small well kept village of Broek in Waterland (with its 53 listed buildings) makes an ideal escape from the hustle and bustle (and cost!) of Amsterdam.... Our week at The Inn was the best part of our six week holiday. When we arrived, Linda, our stand-in hostess, settled us in to our beautiful, spacious room and then offered us a glass of wine to enjoy at one of the many lovely spots in the garden. The village is so peaceful and picturesque and the views of... More

This is a private guesthouse (so it is more than a B and B) with the best ingredients you can imagine. Pamela takes care of the excellent breakfast with two friendly ladies to help her. Also her husband Karel is in charge and he takes care of the coffee machine. In the conservatory you van enjoy your breakfast with a... More

Within the first couple of minutes of arriving, I already knew I wanted to stay here again. What a lovely warm welcome from the half-English/half-Dutch owner Pamela and her Dutch friend Monique, who also looked after us superbly. The decor throughout this historical wooden house, a former vicarage, is immaculate with extraordinary attention to detail and quality, including our room... More

Arriving at 10.30 at night we were welcomed by Pamela and her warm hospitality and immediately knew we would enjoy our stay. We started the following day with a delightful breakfast served at our table overlooking the lake. The property has been meticulously restored with an eye to detail apparent throughout, as well as in the garden. Broek is the... More

I had the profound pleasure of staying at the Inn on the lake for 9 days. It is an absolutely lovely place! You can see a lot of love and attention has gone into it. Having the wonderful breakfast in the garden, overlooking the little lake is indescribable (if there is such a thing as heaven ...). The Inn on... More

My wife and I found out about Inn On The Lake via the Mr and Mrs Smith web site initially and before booking directly with the venue a last minute NINE days holiday I telephoned the Inn to reserve our room for one hour on 22/07/13 whilst securing flights. The call was answered by Pamela van der Schaar - the... More

Owners Pamela and Karel have restored this 17th century original buiding beautifully - with Pamela´s delicious breakfast, Karel´s assistance in getting our heavy suitcases moved to the 2nd floor, this was an experience to remember. Having 17th & 18th century ancestors from this very village made this stay even more interesting. Our son loved his bedstead. We had a room... More

Just spent 4 nights at The Inn on the Lake. Beautifully restored and decorated, our room was clean and bright with amazing views overlooking the lake and best of all a bath you could relax and enjoy the view from. Care and attention given to all our meals, fresh breads, meats, cheeses and fruit for breakfast and lovely 3 course... More
