This hotel just had a brand change. It is no longer a Sofitel but is currently called the Rosemont Hotel. Staff there say they expect all legal arrangements to end the deal with Sofitel and to start a new brand will take another month or 2. We were booked to stay July 3-10 but we checked out on July 6.... more

The hotel staff was not accomodating at all to us. We complained about the dirty bed covering and how the drain in the shower was clogged. We also complained about how the front desk staff was smug and arrogant. We also complained about how the airconditioner in the room did not work. They did not compensate us at all for... more

The Sofitel is an alright hotel, but I wouldn't call it 4 stars. Pros: 1. Nice toiletries 2. Across the street from the convention center 3. Helpful and pleasant staff 4. Nice pillow-top bed Cons: 1. No free wireless internet 2. Continental breakfast is $18/person 3. Parking is kind of inconvenient and $18/day for self-park 4. No flat sheets on... more

Hallways and room decor were tacky, grungy and dated - def not what you'd expect for the price. Front desk service was unprofessional and unfriendly. Only saving graces were proximity to conference ctr and great french restaraunt in the lobby. Food and service there were excellent. more

Upon checking in, there was one particular staff person, Angie I believe her name was, who was very rude. She was not helpful, very short, and made me feel as if she was doing me a favor my waiting on me. In the following days, I avoided her. Other staff members were helpful and nice, though, but unfortunately, she had... more

The Sofitel's homepage advertises it as a "luxury hotel." I think I would agree that it has a "luxury lobby," a beautiful "luxury bar/restaurant" and possibly a "luxury gift shop" (according to prices,)but the rooms are far below. They are nice, don't get me wrong, but pretty ordinary. I felt the whole place would be contemporary. The lobby and such... more

If you are planning to visit Chicago stay away from this Sofitel. The concierge girl (blondy one) was rude and greedy, just waiting for money all the time we asked something. Awful front desk staff, specially supervisors. more

Actually, it started off bad in that I meant to book the 'other' Sofitel in Chicago. However, with expedia.com's "sorry about your luck" policy, off we were to Sofitel O'Hare. Located right by the airport, the hotel was clean, quiet and quaint. We were there over new years eve and was able to see all the fireworks in Chicago from... more

Sofitel was a breath of fresh air. We had just finished up a 3 night stay at the disappointing Hilton O'Hare and wanted another night in Chicago before we had to head home. We did not, however, wish to continue staying at the Hilton. (You can read that review as well) What a contrast! The Sofitel is a true 4... more

I booked through Hotels.com and agree with the site's star rating of this hotel. The hotel sits very close to the free way and access to the CTA (train) is within two blocks. Shuttle service is provided to O'Hare although I did not use it. Instead I rented a vehicle. Unfortunately what wasn't provided on the site was the outrageous... more
