We booked this very last minute and found the guest house by chance in a Northumberland Tourist Magazine. We were warmly welcomed and our two year old was also catered for very kindly. We enjoyed a very generous breakfast with the sausages being the highlight. Also in a lovely spot and an interesting village to visit again and to send... More

Popped into this lovely cafe/b&b today for a hot chocolate and cake. Staff were very friendly and welcoming and the coffee and walnut cake was delicious. The garden was tranquil and comfortable to sit and soak up the sun in. My children enjoyed clucking with the chickens at the far end of the garden too.

We discovered Ford by chance and had a meal at The Estate House. It had been very busy but the food was delicious and the staff were really friendly. We were able to sit outside and our dog was made very welcome too ! The garden area was really relaxing. We would recommend it !

I notice most reviews refer to the excellent breakfasts, and we agree. The service was very friendly , and is an important factor. We honestly considered the house, location and especially our room to be only average. In fairness we thought the overnight charges to be low, so we got value for what we paid.

We stayed in the Lady Waterford family room, two adults and a dog, and despite not having a loo and bath/shower en suite – a short walk down a landing - we thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. There was a wash basin in the room however. The owners were very helpful indeed, and cooked a great breakfast each morning. The... More

I chose the full English/Scottish breakfast on our first morning with Haggis and Black Pudding. What a feast. Best breakfast ever. My Wife had Kippers which were equally good. This is a first class B and B. The owners were very accommodating of our late arrival and late return the next evening. Very comfortable quiet place to stay. I fully... More

Just spent 3 nights here. Fantastic place. Beautiful house in tranquil estate village. Great views from our bedroom window over the lovely garden to the Cheviots beyond. We had the twin room which was spacious and well equipped with comfortable beds, en suite bath and shower and great hospitality tray, (real milk and lovely Border biscuits). Breakfast really was special.... More

We were visiting the area and as it was nearly lunch time popped into the restaurant for an early lunch We opted for a full English breakfast with coffee instead of tea. It was cold so we went into the lounge where there was a roaring fire which warmed us up nicely. We were immediately given a cafetiere of really... More

The homemade soup in this quirky tea room was superb and the owner was really nice. The day we called was in the winter and we were surprised to find the tea room open. The owner was very welcoming and she went out of our way to make us feel comfortable.
