Staying here for the Skydiving Convention Aug 6-15, 2004. Have stayed at Fan Marker Inn (a converted officers quarters from the old Chanute Air Force Base) in Rantoul for the past two years, this Best Western Heritage is considerably better and actually less expensive. The Days Inn is right next door. I have stayed there too. It is $59 per night during the Skydive event compared to $66 at Best Western. Days Inn is lower in quality, not by too much. The Best Western rooms are clean, the breakfast is just cereal and some pastry, but its OK and the mgr often puts out some fresh fruit like bananas. The mgr, a guy from India named Moulin, is a nice guy and will try to make your stay enjoyable. He does care about customer satisfaction while some of the local innkeepers (like Fan Marker Inn) just try to rip off the skydivers for as much as they can since everything is booked up. .
