Stayed one night while visiting Ankarana Reserve. The individual bungalows were spacious, clean and bed was comfortable. The accommodations were very basic but adequate for one night stay. Our outfitter told us that this is the best accommodations within a 1-2 hour drive of the park. There is one plug in each room for charging (difficult to find but its... More

Ankarana national park is a very dry place and the gateway town is really not much more than some accomodation for tourists visiting the park. That being said, Le relais de l'Ankarana does a fine job in trying to provide comfortable accomodation for travellers. The rooms are clean and have hot water, mosquito nets and a reasonably comfortable mattress. The... More

This hotel is just a hotel clean rooms, no wifi, power from 18.00- 22.00 and no nice views. The restaurant is oke, and the only atrraction is huge gekko on the wall who apperently lives there since 1999. It didn't has a name, so we called him Billy. Next door is the Anakrana lodge which looked a lot more promising... More

This is a rather basic accommodation close to the entrance of Ankarana National Park. It must be the best there is and considering the location it is remarkably good. The bungalows have a comfortable bed and a bathroom with hot water. Electricity is available, but not all day. The owner can have a truly tasty meal prepared. Recommended.

Room was of a good size with a large double bed and single bed. Electricity is by a generator which is on for a set time each night. Bathroom was adequate with hot water for shower and basin. All requests were granted with a simile. Cold beer at the end of the day was most enjoyable.

The rooms aren't great although we did have a fan which ensured a decent nights sleep. The shower was pretty poor with no hot water and a switch you had to hold in continuously for water flow. However the location is good right by the park and the dinner, although only two selections was very well cooked and tasty -... More

We stayed here for three nights while we visited the park (which was very interesting). We very much enjoyed our stay and found the owners to be friendly, obliging and generous. There was only power from 1800 - 2200h, and only one power point which made charging appliances tricky. The food was the best we have had in Madagascar, with... More

Simple hotel, with large but basic rooms. It was very hot and we really missed a fan/airco. We liked the garden and trees on the property, staff did their best. We had good food in the restaurant. We were surprised to hear that there were no sleeping options for our guide/driver an they were not allowed to come in the... More

The guide books describe this place as "Simple, yet Reliable" - which it is. The rooms are incredibly simple - no electricity, no hot water, no curtains - but the beds are comfortable, food is very good, and service is great. As you spend more time out and about, the room is perfect for a place to lay your head... More

Stayed here 2 nights during our trip around Madagascar. unfortunately it was by some way the poorest of our accommodations. The rooms were basic twins rather than double. the bathroom was functional with a hand held shower. There was hot water occasionally although it never seemed to be available when we needed a shower. Very few of the staff spoke... More
