This is an 1800's vintage building that was converted into a hotel, retaining the flavor of the past. The room, although tiny (11ft by 12ft) was quiet and comfortable. It had a double bed, an antique dresser, a chair and two nightstands. The TV is a 17" LCD mounted to the wall. The bed was very comfortable, I got a... More

I am glad that you found our hotel quiet and comfortable. I apologize that the internet did not work for you. I agree that, as a business traveler, this is a very important element to your stay. I appreciate the heads up that some people may have issues with this service and we will be more attentive to this in... More

Location in the town is great. Room was very nice and priced appropriately. Owners were very nice. But here are some things I wish I knew before staying there: 1. It's marketed as a bed and breakfast (even though it's called the William Watson Hotel), and as far as B&B breakfast goes, it's nonexistent. There wasn't any info about the... More

I am glad that you have such nice things to say about my hotel, my husband and I and our staff. I understand your concerns and here are my responses to those concerns. 1. TripAdvisor gives us the mark of a B&B. This is because we do not have an overnight desk clerk. I have pleaded with them that this... More

Great suites, wonderful rooms with a family type atmosphere. Every room is unique. The staff treats you like family. This is my second stay and I will definitely be back. On the square across from the unique and historical County Courthouse and attached to a great coffee shop

Everything about the stay was amazing and exceeded all expectations. The staff was very friendly and helpful with everything, and the room was perfect. The space was very interesting as it felt like both a quaint historic B&B and a modern boutique hotel. The room was even much larger than the pictures/description gave it credit for...definitely an amazing value. We... More

On a color fest trip we were impressed by the Pittsfield Illinois court house and town square. Sat on a bench to look at the courthouse and found ourselves in front of this hotel. Inquired about rooms and the owner gave us a personal tour. We decided to stay and the experience was very pleasant. The owners have made this... More

Hooray for the Color Tour! It is such a wonderful County wide event that brings new people, such as yourselves, to Pike County, IL. We are always happy to give tours! Showing off our building is one of our favorite things to do... Other than taking care of our guests! Hope to see you again soon. -Jane Ann More

I just got home from staying at the William Watson Hotel. It was like a home away from home. Jane, one of the owners checked me in. She was pleasant and effecient. She walked to my room WITH me and showed me how to run the AC/Fan unit. The staff is small but accomodating. The rooms are quiet and sitting... More

We wanted to have an Americana 4th of July this year and decided we would spend a couple of days in Hannibal, MO. By the time we made the decision there were no rooms available in Hannibal. We did some searching in nearby Louisiana, MO and far down on the list the WW Hotel showed up. We liked the pictures... More

My wife and I had a great experience staying one night at the William Watson Hotel. The room was much larger than we were expecting and was warm, comfortable, and well decorated. The receptionist was welcoming and helpful in telling us about options of where to eat and we had a great conversation with the owners the next morning, a... More

Okay, so there's no fitness center on site or a pool...and if you need that, go elsewhere. What there IS at the William Watson is charm, peace, a sense of walking back in history and comfort. I always wind up picturing myself living in one of the rooms. The owners restored the building into a graceful elegant gem. If you... More

rpelley, You nailed it! We are a place that you can unwind and relax. It is a casual environment is which you can move at your own pace, much like the town itself. We are opening the coffee shop adjacent to our lobby in June which we are so excited about! Can't wait for your next visit! -Jane Ann More

First off - it's not a bed & breakfast. A box of cereal, bag of oatmeal & jug of milk in the refrigerator is all there is. Wouldn't have made a difference anyway because of everything else. We had booked a room for Saturday & Sunday. We arrived, the lady at check in was very pleasant & showed us to... More

I am sorry the stay for you was not to your liking. We do appreciate your honesty and the constructive criticism. In response to your concern for your safety. Pike County is home to two of the safest towns in Illinois (this is where the reference to my brother-in-law came in) and the residents of this community respect that status... More
