The property was very warm, clean and cozy and in close walking distance to everything downtown. The staff is very friendly, laid back and eager to help. I work on the road for over a 100 nights a year and it was a welcome break to get out of the typical hotel lay out and into something that feels like... More

Small historic hotel located conveniently on the square in Pittsfield. Cute decor! A few rooms on ground level but most are on 2nd or 3rd floor floor and there is no elevator. All rooms are clean and comfortable. Love their suites...mini-fridges and microwaves are nice. Delicious coffee shop downstairs ( closed Sunday's) otherwise coffee, juice, cereal, toast, oatmeal for guests.

The William Watson Hotel is my first choice for lodging when I travel to Pittsfield, IL. It’s historic for both me personally and for the community it serves! My grandmother worked here when it was “The Parkway” in the 1960’s and at the same time I had a great aunt whom took a room or small apartment at the Parkway.... More

This was such a lovely surprise. Rooms were gorgeous. Staff was friendly, continental breakfast was nice. I wish this hotel was closer so I could go back again. I just don't have anything neg. to say about it. I love the Free Press coffee shop that was attached to it. I stayed for 4 nights and wish I could have... More

I have stayed here for weeks at a time due to the fact that Jane Ann and her staff are so friendly and accommodating. As my new company gets up and running I have made this my second home while I look to relocate into the area. The rooms are clean and very livable, each of which is a little... More

This is the 3rd time that my husband and I have stayed at the Watson while visiting Pittsfield. We had relayed this information to the woman working the front desk (who happened to be the owner) and she gave us a free upgrade to a suite! Out of the 3 times staying here, twice we have been upgraded free to... More

My husband and I stayed one night. We both love historical building's and enjoyed the building. I hate to say, but I was disappointed with everything else. Our mattress was hard as a rock. The continental breakfast was very lacking. I do not think it was worth the money we spent for the room. New mattresses and a decent breakfast... More

We are glad that you both liked the building. It took us two years to renovate and is a wonderful opportunity for us. We are going to use this review as constructive criticism and take a second look at both our beds and our breakfast. To date we have offered milk, oj, cereal, coffee, tea, oatmeal, a variety of fruit,... More

This is a great place! The building is very old, 1838 i believe, built by the city's founder, William Watson. The owners are very nice and our 2 queen suite had 2 rooms with plenty of space. Breakfast was available 24/7 and had coffee, OJ, milk, 2 cereals, bread PB, and jelly and there is an attached coffee shop if... More

This is an 1800's vintage building that was converted into a hotel, retaining the flavor of the past. The room, although tiny (11ft by 12ft) was quiet and comfortable. It had a double bed, an antique dresser, a chair and two nightstands. The TV is a 17" LCD mounted to the wall. The bed was very comfortable, I got a... More

Location in the town is great. Room was very nice and priced appropriately. Owners were very nice. But here are some things I wish I knew before staying there: 1. It's marketed as a bed and breakfast (even though it's called the William Watson Hotel), and as far as B&B breakfast goes, it's nonexistent. There wasn't any info about the... More

I am glad that you have such nice things to say about my hotel, my husband and I and our staff. I understand your concerns and here are my responses to those concerns. 1. TripAdvisor gives us the mark of a B&B. This is because we do not have an overnight desk clerk. I have pleaded with them that this... More
