Apart from the lovely atmosphere.. The friendly staff n lovely food.. The place had a lovely relaxing feel about it.. As the sun rose the blue clear waters glittered as if paying homage to the sun.The water gently rippled under the standing chalets submerging them with its love. At a distance a fishing boat was getting ready for the day.As... More

I'll start out by saying that this was the second stage of our 4 week "My Big Birthday" trip. First stage resulted in a torn ligament/tendon when I was stepping into a game drive truck, so my perceptions 4 days post tear were, I am sorry to say, likely to be biased somewhat, by my pain (and my hubby had... Our Friends got married at Flamingo Bay Lodge. Everything was top-notch. I must compliment all the staff - you guys we're great, extremely professional and nothing was too much to ask - especially the F&B Manager. Second compliment must go to the Chef's at Flamingo. The food was glorious, and the drinks selection was extensive. I cannot remember in which... More

We loved staying at this resort. A lot of the resorts in Mozambique are over crowded and do not allow you some peace and quiet. Here however you have the choice. If you are up for fun, Transport can be arrange with minimum effort. (African transport) Avoid the so called spa at all cost. Its is Terrible. A trip to... More

If you want to rest, this location is perfect. I really recommend taking a canoe and going to mangroves. If you're lucky, you'll see some Flamingos. More than 3 days here can be boring, but you can easily go to Tofo Beach, witch is pretty close. There you will find a very spectacular pretty wild ocean beach and a very... More

We had a wonderful time at Flamingo Bay. The location is unparalleled on the Inhambane Bay smack bang in the Tidal estuary with mangroves all around. It is frankly just awesome to walk to your cabin across the walk way and see the tide changes with the associated life going on and then jumping of the verandah in to the... More

Thank you for the very candid review. The staff go out of their way to offer the service required and it is pleasing to note that in your case Flamingo Bay delivered. Road transport can be challenging and we are doing our best to overcome using outside suppliers for this service however at times and particularly in busy times we... More

One of the best places we have ever stayed!!!!! Located in a mangrove area with huts on stilts and a wonderful view. The service, staff and food is an experience in itself - this is definitely not the last time we visit this little paradise....

This is Africa’s only lodge situated on a tidal estuary in a mangrove zone. You can drop into the sea from your stilted bungalow and emerge to have a shower on your patio. It is very peaceful and private. You can see why it is popular with honeymooners. (They offer discounts to honeymooners.) It is a wonderful place worth visiting... More

Thank you for your detailed review of Flamingo Bay. We are pleased to note the experience was enjoyed. One point about the booking fee though as on the barraresorts.com site the price you see is the price you pay and there are no booking fees charged on top of the lodge rates. More

Accommodation was very good - and the walk from room to reception was always interesting, with flamingos, ruffs, cormorants, plovers and redshank, and magical wee red-clawed crabs to attract our attention. Add bulbuls and various yellow weavers bustling about their business by the pool/open-air dining area, and a lovely evening cat, and every day was a delight. Every meal was... More

Our honeymoon was truly fantastic and we enjoyed every moment of it. The rooms are truly breath-taking and we spend most of our time on our veranda looking at the stunning views. Both low and high tide brings with it the most wonderful sights. We were lucky to have room 119 which has stunning views of the sunset. The resort... More
