I had booked a block of rooms for a wedding and gave them my credit card number to hold the rooms. I canceled the rooms that were not booked a month before the wedding apart from two of them that I was paying for myself. At midnight the night before the wedding one of the guests attempted to check into... more

I'm puzzled by the bad reviews as we've stayed here twice with no problems. The rooms are nice and clean and most offer great river views. Maxson's restaurant next door will provide room service with really wonderful food. The paddlewheel boat is docked outside and offers tours. The staff isn't exactly outgoing but they're polite and helpful and we've had... more

Check out the reviews BEFORE you make a reservation here. You can do much better anywhere else. I stayed for a wedding in a non-smoking room with a balcony, insisting that any smokers use the balcony. I can not tolerate cigarette smoke whatsoever. Two people smoked on the balcony for a small part of the evening before turning in. A... more

The guest is right that he was in a non-smoking riverview suite. The room was $130 not $140 per night. The suite prior to check in had no burn marks or smoke smell. The cleaning staff entered the room after the guest checked out and immediately notified management of the condition of the room. The room had a strong smoke...

We stayed here for a family reunion in Mt. Morris. They lost our reservation and we ended up having to pay for a "riverview luxury suite" at $250/night. That's more than twice what we originally booked months before. I guess we should be thankful we got a room. Our cousin had to sleep in the conference room on a roll-a-way... more

The reservations for this guest were not lost. This guest chose to stay in the room they stayed in. This guest was not charged for mascara on a towel contrary to her statement. We do not provide sheets for guest personal pack and plays therefore there is obviously not a fee for sheets. Children are always welcome at the Paddle...

This is a nicely located hotel directly near the Rock River. We have stayed there for several nights in a street-side "Standard Room". There are also river facing rooms available at approx. 25% surcharge. Pros: - Spacious rooms, moderately but nicely decorated, well kept, adequetly modern bathrooms - Free wireless internet (provided it works) - The Blackhawk Steak Pit restaurant... more

We stayed here for a golfing weekend in the area. (Great courses in the area at reasonable prices) Only the deluxe river view rooms were available, but I'm glad we spent the extra dollars. Beautiful view of the Rock River from the room with a nice balcony (although not very private). The river view rooms are also much larger than... more

We attended a wedding in June and stayed at the Paddle Wheel Inn. I was informed upon making my reservation of the hotels cancellation policy both times i made reservations, contrary to the other reviews. The staff was knowledgeable, friendly and had excellent customer service. The room was spotless. It was the most upkept room I have ever stayed in.... more

We had a wonderful experience at the Paddle Wheel. Our river view suite was clean and roomy and had a large bath. It had a balcony that overlooked the river and a large deck and gazebo. The room service was prompt, the food delicious, and they catered to my vegetarian travelling companion without complaint. Over all it was a lovely... more
